Indian Teenager kills Mother for Objecting to Affair with 2 Men

An Indian teenager was arrested on Monday, October 28, 2019, for murdering her mother.

The incident happened in Hayathnagar, which is a suburb of Hyderabad in Telangana India.

It was reported that the victim, Rajitha, objected to her 19-year-old daughter’s affair with two men, that eventually led to the killing.

On October 18, 2019, Keerthy Reddy enlisted the help of her boyfriend Shashi to carry out the murder at her home.

Undergraduate student Keerthy strangled her mother to death while her boyfriend held the victim down. According to officers, the couple spent three days together in the house with the body.

However, the smell started to become unbearable which prompted Shashi and Keerthy to move the body.

They dumped the victim’s body on a railway track near the village of Ramannapeta in order to make it look like an accident or a suicide.

However, suspicions began to arise when Keerthy’s father, Srinivas Reddy, returned home. He worked as a lorry driver so he was away for a lot of the time.

When he asked about Rajitha, the Indian teenager claimed to not know her mother’s whereabouts.

She told her father that she had gone to Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh and had not returned home.

Mr Reddy later became worried and filed a police complaint.

During their investigation, officers questioned both family members but became suspicious of Keerthy as her statements were inconsistent.

She was taken to the police station for further questioning where she confessed to killing her mother.

Keerthy explained that she had been in a relationship with two men and her mother was against it when she found out.

The objection led to the suspect taking extreme measures.

She added that they dumped her mother’s body in an attempt to avoid her being suspected. The young woman was formally arrested as well as her boyfriend Shashi.

Police have said that a case has been registered under Section 174 (suspicious death) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).

They added that an FIR will be registered following legal advice.

Meanwhile, the Government Railway Police discovered the 39-year-old victim’s body and informed the police. They identified it to be that of Rajitha.

Even though Keerthy and Shashi remain in custody, police have said that the case is being further investigated as the role of a third accomplice, possibly her other boyfriend is being probed.
