"It took six months for the police to zero in on the husband as the accused in the case."
Police arrested an Indian man after he streamed live sex with his wife, without her knowledge of his actions. The 33-year-old software engineer sold the streams to a porn website.
This took place for a total of six months. His wife had no idea of the live sex streams until a friend alerted her about the videos.
The Indian man carried out the streams by filming himself and his wife having sex with a laptop webcam. He then sold the streams to the porn website, which uploaded them to potentially thousands of people online.
Reports claim that the software engineer offered his services to the same website as a male escort. His wife became aware of his intentions and advised against it, deeming it as “prostitution”.
However, she remained unaware of the live sex streams. Even when a friend alerted her about the videos, she didn’t suspect her husband. She believed he only used his laptop for films, as he regularly watched them on the device.
While the wife filed a complaint to police in November 2016, it took them many months to identify her husband as the culprit. Police had to trace “the IP address, bank accounts, chat history” to find him as the offender.
S Jayram, Assistant Commissioner of Police, said:
“It took six months for the police to zero in on the husband as the accused in the case.”
During the investigation, police traced his IP address to the couple’s family in Chintal, Hyderabad. They then immediately arrested him.
However, in his defence, the Indian software engineer claims he had to conduct the live sex streams as he needed the money.
The police also discovered that the person who uploaded the videos on the porn website came from Kerala. They made the discovery through tracing IP addresses.
Now it appears the man will discover the consequences of his actions, as he awaits to hear his sentence.
