Roshan took to social media to share his enthusiasm for the project. He specifically highlighted the unique tone and inventive action sequences.

“Go watch it in the theatres guys. Also that running in circles action was brilliant.”
Shahid Kapoor was clearly moved by the public support from his contemporary.

The actor recalled being a student when Roshan first became a superstar.
He said: “Brother saw you debut like a boss when I was still in college and you hit me like lightning.
“Been loving you since your first. This feels special. Big love so happy you enjoyed the film.”

It earned approximately 9 crore on its opening day. By the end of its first week, the film amassed 52.51 crore in domestic net earnings.
This figure places it only behind the blockbuster Border 2 in the 2026 rankings. Globally, the film has grossed over 72 crore.
The project represents the fourth collaboration between Kapoor and director Vishal Bhardwaj.
They previously worked on acclaimed titles such as Kaminey and Haider.
Bhardwaj has been vocal about his pride in the film despite some negative reviews.
He addressed the detractors during a recent interview. He said:
“This is going to be one of my most successful films. I need to say this to break the hearts of critics who panned the film.
“No matter what they felt, this is going to be the most successful film of my life.
“I am so proud of this film. I am not ashamed of it at all. I am so happy.
“I am so proud of the violence-and-love story I’ve created.”
The narrative of O Romeo is inspired by a chapter from the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai.
It follows a feared contract killer named Ustara who operates in the city’s dark underworld.
Triptii Dimri stars as Afsha, a woman seeking revenge for her husband’s death.
The cast also features Nana Patekar and Avinash Tiwary in pivotal roles.
Some viewers found the 179-minute runtime a bit excessive. However, others appreciated the gritty atmosphere and the stylised cinematography.
The film faced some controversy regarding its online ratings. Audience reviews were briefly removed from a major ticketing platform.
This move was reportedly intended to combat an organised negative campaign.
