"My mother-in-law loves panipuri."
Kiara Advani revealed what she did to win Sidharth Malhotra’s mother over.
The actress has been promoting her new film Satyaprem Ki Katha and her mother-in-law Rimma Malhotra accompanied her.
During an interview, Kiara was asked about her love for panipuri.
When Kiara stated that she loved different varieties of the popular street food, she was asked if it was “overrated”.
Kiara also revealed that panipuri played a big role in impressing her mother-in-law.
Opening up about Rimma’s visit to Mumbai, Kiara said she made sure her mother-in-law had panipuri on her first day in the city.
Revealing that she had a panipuri stall at her wedding, Kiara said:
“Of course. My mother-in-law loves panipuri.
“She is currently staying with us in Mumbai. So the first day when she came, since I know she loves panipuri, I said ‘today we will make panipuri at home, this way I will butter her up’, she will love me to another level.
“It really impressed her and made her happy.”
Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra got married in February 2023, in a star-studded but low-key ceremony at Jaisalmer’s Suryagarh Palace.
For the ceremony, Kiara looked elegant in a shimmering pink ensemble from Manish Malhotra. The lehenga featured intricate details.
It contrasted with extravagant jewellery which featured emeralds.
Meanwhile, Sidharth opted for an off-white sherwani that featured gold detailing, giving it a regal edge
He completed the look with a golden turban.
Celebrity guests included Karan Johar, Shahid Kapoor and Juhi Chawla.
Isha Ambani, who is a childhood friend of Kiara’s, was also in attendance.
Things were kept fairly private at the traditional wedding, with security being deployed.
A no-phone policy was also implemented to prevent wedding pictures from being leaked.
The newlyweds then held a grand reception in Mumbai, which was attended by Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Ananya Panday, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, among many others.
Speaking about Sidharth, Kiara said:
“I got married recently, and it was a love marriage. So naturally, I believe in true love.”
“A home is made by two people and I feel lucky, that my partner, the man I have chosen, my husband is also my best friend.
“He is my everything, my home. Wherever I am, he is my family, my home.”
