"He must be a guest and they are doing a prank.”
Popular show host and comedian Tabish Hashmi has stepped down from his much-loved comedy show Hasna Mana Hai.
It is understood that Ahmed Ali Butt will replace Tabish on the show.
Although fans are disappointed and shocked at the sudden departure, many are pleased that the show will go on, albeit with a different host.
The news came to light after Tabish shared an image of Ahmed on the sets of Hasna Mana Hai, which was shared on the show’s Instagram page.
It was simply captioned: “New Beginnings.”
Sharing the story, Tabish wrote that the show was in good hands.
However, many fans believed that the news was fake and that the comedians had come together to play a joke on their followers.
One fan wrote: “I think this is just part of their joke. He must be a guest and they are doing a prank.”
Another wrote: “Hasna Mana Hai is nothing without Tabish. Tabish is the best comedian, please vote for his comeback.”
One fan pleaded: “Please no. Ahmed is good but the show suits Tabish. Ahmed can get a different show.”
Tabish Hashmi rose to fame with his endearing interviewing skills and his ability to keep his audience engaged with his comedic innuendos.
He has interviewed many celebrities such as Saba Qamar, Adnan Siddiqui, Hania Amir and Mawra Hocane.
Aside from Hasna Mana Hai, Tabish has been part of other comedy shows such as To Be Honest.
Hasna Mana Hai was well received by viewers and the game segments proved to be very popular.
One segment saw Tabish and his guest take part in a drawing competition, in which an image is shared on the screen and then the pair have a small amount of time to draw the image from memory.
Another popular segment is where the guest is asked to share a few words at random which is then generated into a poem.
In the past, Tabish was criticised for his hosting skills after he was called out for making sexual innuendos with his guests, which were deemed inappropriate.
Others said that they were unable to watch the show with their families because the innuendos were uncomfortable.
One fan had said: “Tabish Hashmi has come from Canada.
“He’s liberal and speaking in such a language is quite normal for him, and now he’s normalising it in Pakistan.”
Another person said: “I don’t know who sends their family members to such a cheap show.”
One comment read: “Vulgar talk. So-called family show. Pemra should take action against this channel.”
Fans of the show said that Hasna Mana Hai should come with a PG+18 rating.
Despite the criticisms, Hasna Mana Hai was a huge hit.
