Ranvir Singh has reportedly quit her Good Morning Britain role as Political Editor, leaving bosses desperate to hold on to her.

A source has said that the TV presenter decided to step down after growing fed up with early starts and standing outside 10 Downing Street.

She quietly handed in her notice at the end of 2021 under the premise she would be moving into a “more substantial” role in the main studio.

This comes as Ranvir’s stardom continues to increase, with her Strictly Come Dancing appearance in 2020 helping to make her a household name.

A source told The Sun: “Ranvir is ready for a new challenge at Good Morning Britain and she wants a bigger role within the team.

“She quietly stepped down as the Political Editor of the show in anticipation of having a more substantial part to play.

“Ranvir covers for Susanna Reid when she is away and this week has stepped into her shoes during half term.

“But she wants more and the bosses at GMB are clamouring to give it to her.

“She is a hugely popular member of GMB and keeping Ranvir on board is something everyone wants.

“Ranvir is a real talent and as well as her work on GMB, Loose Women and Lorraine, when she steps in to cover, she also has a new ITV gameshow launching this year called Riddiculous.

“However to keep her the job – and pay – will have to be right.”

Ranvir Singh joined GMB during the 2014 shake-up of the breakfast show and was the Features correspondent.

In 2017, she became the show’s Political Editor and soon became one of the main presenters.

She also previously hosted the 10-episode series All Around Britain alongside Alex Beresford.

Good Morning Britain has seen several changes in recent months.

Susanna Reid signed a new deal with ITV.

In January 2022, it was reported that she was the best-paid woman on TV after signing the contract worth £1.1 million.

Ranvir’s colleague Kate Garraway has also been promoted within ITV and along with her work on GMB, took over from Piers Morgan to host his Life Stories show.

She is also fronting a new series on ITV, called Life Changing Homes.
