"Such attacks cannot be tolerated."
An attack on former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa in London has sparked outrage and condemnation.
As he arrived to attend an event at The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, he was met with hostility by a group of PTI supporters.
The event at the Middle Temple was organised to celebrate his elevation as a Callee after stepping down as Pakistan’s top judge.
The protesters, led by individuals like Shayan Ali and Sadaf Mumtaz Malik, surrounded Justice Isa’s car as it emerged from the temple.
As the car drove past, protesters banged and kicked the vehicle.
The group, including Aisha Ali Qureshi and Sadia Faheem, expressed their anger and accused Justice Isa of wrongdoing.
Videos of the attack went viral, with Shayan Ali mocking the former chief justice for trying to hide his face.
According to Shayan, this implied that the former CJP knew he had done wrong.
The protesters celebrated their actions, declaring it a form of justice and vowing to make life difficult for anyone they perceive as corrupt.
In response to the attack, the Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK condemned the incident and promised diplomatic action against the perpetrators.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also strongly denounced the violence, ordering immediate steps to identify and take legal action against the assailants.
This includes blocking their ID cards and passports and potentially revoking their citizenship.
Mohsin Naqvi emphasised that those responsible for the attack would face swift action.
He claimed that the cases have been sent to the cabinet for approval.

Mohsin stated: “Such attacks cannot be tolerated.”
He referenced a similar incident involving the Pakistani High Commission in London.
The Interior Minister also questioned why security was not provided to former CJP Isa, who had reportedly faced threats.
Following the incident, PTI UK distanced itself from Shayan Ali, stating that he was acting alone and not in line with PTI’s principles.
The party denounced the violence and emphasised that it stands against such actions, despite its opposition to Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
This attack occurred as Justice Isa made history by becoming the first Pakistani judge to be elected as a bencher.
Despite the disturbance, the ceremony in his honour was rescheduled to accommodate his post-retirement attendance.
This highlights the significance of his achievement and longstanding connection to the institution.
