Indian female celebrities are notably missing from the list.

Forbes have listed Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar among the world’s highest paid celebrities in the 2016 list.

SRK is a new entry and ranks at number 86 with an estimated salary of US$33 million (£25m).

He ties with ‘Iron Man’ Robert Downey Jr and comedy actress Melissa McCarthy.

Akshay enters the list for two consecutive years, but has dropped to 94th from 2015’s 76th position.

The Housefull 3 star still manages to cash in US$31.5 million (£24m) in the past year, sharing the same place as Brad Pitt.

Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel, who will be seen opposite our very own Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone in the their Hollywood big screen debut, come in at number 19 and 78.

Taking the top spot this year is American singer Taylor Swift. The highest-ranking athlete is Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo, followed by Barcelona’s forwarder Lionel Messi.
