“I do. I made some great friends there."

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has opened up on his time in Bollywood and he admitted that he misses the industry.

The actor has a large following in India after appearing in the likes of Khoobsurat and Kapoor & Sons.

His last Bollywood film came in 2016 with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

After the Uri attack in 2016, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association passed a resolution to ban Pakistani artistes from working in Indian films.

In 2019, the All Indian Cine Workers Association announced a total ban on Pakistani artistes working in India.

During an interview, Fawad was asked if he misses Bollywood.

The actor admitted that he does, saying:

“I do. I made some great friends there. Still keep in touch with them.”

Calling it a “lovely experience”, Fawad continued:

“I miss seeing them and I miss Bombay. I think it’s a beautiful city. In fact, all the cities I’ve been to. I’ve had a lovely experience.”

Fawad Khan will be returning to Indian screens with a new web series, reuniting with his Zindagi Gulzar Hai co-star Sanam Saeed.

The show, which will stream on ZEE5, is directed by Asim Abbasi.

The makers previously said: “Fawad plays a single parent – charming but ridden with guilt for what he has lost.

“With his son, he tries to be every bit the father his own father was and wasn’t.

“Sanam plays the central female character in the series. Harbouring otherworldly secrets, she takes it upon herself to heal, and make whole, everyone who surrounds her.”

In a statement, Fawad said: “I think Zindagi is taking bold and brave decisions when it comes to storytelling.

“It’s naturally evolving into a platform that encourages diversity of opinion and inclusiveness for all filmmakers and material ranging from everyday mainstream to avant-garde and noir.

“I feel there’s a place for everyone in this artistic landscape.”

Fawad Khan will also be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, featuring in the show Ms Marvel.

However, it is not known what his role will be in the upcoming series.

Without revealing much about the show, Fawad spoke about his shooting experience and said:

“It was good fun. The cast and the people that I worked with but I’m sorry I can’t say anything more than that.”
