“Honestly, I’m a bit lost for words."

Dr Ranj Singh’s ex-wife, Sulvinder Samra, said she was “lost for words” after receiving an outpouring of support online following her emotional comments about their divorce.

Sulvinder opened up about the breakdown of her marriage to the TV doctor, revealing how she struggled with shame, loneliness and feeling “not good enough” after the relationship ended.

The former couple met in 2003 and married two years later. They were together for around seven years before separating in 2011, after Dr Ranj came out as gay.

After sharing her story on Instagram, Sulvinder received messages from followers who related to her experiences and praised her honesty.

In a video, she said: “Honestly, the past 24 hours have been surreal in ways unimaginable.

“I just want to say thank you for sharing your stories with me.

“I’m going through them all and I’m replying as quickly as I can; it just might take me a little bit of time.

“Thursday was me pushing myself out of my comfort zone, facing my fears, being brave, and if that inspires you in any way then know that I’m here cheering you on.”

Alongside the upload, Sulvinder also reflected on the impact her original post had on others.

She wrote: “Honestly, I’m a bit lost for words. But I’ll try. I asked you to share your story with me and so many of you have.

“Thank you. I know how much courage that takes.

“I have been reading them all, and replying as fast as I can so please bear with me if I haven’t got back to you yet.”

“But know that I see you.

“Sharing my story yesterday was me pushing myself way out of my comfort zone and facing my fears, so if that inspires you in any way then know that I’m here cheering you on.

“Have a great rest of the weekend. You all made my birthday yesterday the best one yet so thank you – I’m very grateful.”

On the split, Sulvinder had reflected on growing up in a strict Indian household and feeling pressure to live up to expectations.

She also stated that turning 45 became a major turning point in her life, leading her to reassess her future and career.

Her comments came shortly after Dr Ranj discussed the end of their marriage, revealing he came out as gay to a close friend around the age of 30 before later telling his wife and family.

Dr Ranj has since gone public with actor James Coldenbrook, with the couple making their relationship Instagram official in 2025.
