This ambitious prequel to the 2022 Kannada hit Kantara promises to explore ancient mythological origins, centred on Panjurli Daiva and Guliga Daiva traditions in coastal Karnataka.
Set in pre-colonial times under the Kadamba dynasty, the story dives into conflicts between forest-tribal communities and a tyrannical king, rooted in rituals, folklore, and nature’s divine connection.
The makers shared the track on social media, writing:
“A voice that roars rebellion, a beat that shakes your soul. #REBEL just got extra special with #DiljitDosanjh’s magic.”
Kantara: Chapter 1 is among Hombale Films’ most ambitious projects, with a creative team including Arvind Kashyap, Vinesh Banglan, and B. Ajaneesh Loknath delivering a powerful narrative and breathtaking visuals.
The production involved over 250 shooting days, with battle sequences featuring 500 fighters, 3,000 extras, vast hill terrain sets, and artisans from across India contributing to the spectacle.
