In a new advertisement for Nike, the actress is seen showcasing her badminton prowess.
The 2-minute-and-52-second long ad, titled Da Da Ding, shows various women engaging in a variety of sports from cricket to hockey.
Deepika powerfully hits the shuttlecocks against an energetic anthem featuring Gener8ion and Gizzle.
Looking drop dead gorgeous at the same time, she channels precisely the spirit of the song – teamwork and ‘never say die’.

Determination and sports seem to be the two factors which has helped Deeps overcome the darkness in her life.
The Bollywood superstar, with a childhood dream of becoming a professional badminton player, reveals on Facebook how sports has supported her through the battle with depression:
“Two years ago I struggled with depression. I was sinking. I almost gave up. But it was the athlete in me that gave me the strength to fight and never ever give up!”
“Sport has taught me how to handle failure. It has also taught me how to handle success. It has kept me grounded. It has taught me humility.”
In motivating her young fans, the actress also mentions her father – the legendary badminton player Prakash Padukone’s principles of achieving success:
“To be the best, always remember the three D’s – Discipline, Dedication and Determination. Follow your heart. Do what you are passionate about.”
Badminton national champion Trupti Murgunde also discusses with Times Of India about looking up to Prakash and sharing rapport with Deepika:
“In early days, Deepika and I used to practice badminton together. She was a very good player. Since then we are good friends.”
