Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has collaborated with clothing brand Levi’s in order to create a new denim collection.
The Levi’s X Deepika Padukone collection defines the actress’ fashion sensibility and authentic style.
The collection reimagines Levi’s classics through its range of jeans and denim.
The new collection includes Deepika’s signature favourites such as athleisure pieces, edgy faux leather pants, and oversized shirts.
Speaking about the collaboration, Deepika said:
“The endeavour with my first-ever collaboration with Levi’s was for it to be an authentic representation of my personal style.
“And I believe we’ve been able to stay true to that vision.”
The collaboration brings Deepika’s casual style to life through varsity jackets, crop-tops and bralettes.
It also features modern and updated interpretations of Levi’s classic denim.
Fashion lovers can expect on-trend 70’s-inspired high waisted jeans and wide-leg silhouettes.
Deepika is also a brand ambassador for Levi’s.
Levi’s announced Deepika’s role as their global brand ambassador in February 2021.
Deepika had said: “Authenticity, Originality and Honesty are values that the brand has been built on and are values I identify with the most!
“For those unaware, I have always been a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl.
“The right pair of jeans not only make me feel comfortable but also confident!
“I am absolutely honoured and delighted to be associating with one of the world’s most iconic brands-Levi’s.”
The American clothing company was founded in 1853 and its headquarters is located in San Francisco.
Sanjeev Mohanty, managing director (South Asia and MENA) had said:
“We are absolutely thrilled that Deepika Padukone’s first collaboration as brand ambassador for Levi’s is so iconic yet personal.
“Levi’s has always believed in authentic self-expression and this collaboration is just that.
“We wanted to work with Deepika because of her iconic sense of style and its influence on consumers.”
“Her understanding of colours, fabrics, and silhouettes is unique and extremely individual.”
Sanjeev added: “With this collaboration, we see the inclusion of newer fabrics, finishes and fits.
“The introduction of athleisure pieces, faux leather pants, long varsity jackets and even the oversized shirts are a way for us to explore unknown textile shirts are a way for us to explore unknown textile territories and also relate to a newer fashion consumer.”
The Levi’s X Deepika Padukone collection will be available from Levi’s retail outlets from October 8, 2021.
Deepika was last seen in Chhapaak, alongside Vikrant Massey and Ankit Bisht.
The drama-biography film premiered on January 10, 2020.
The Bajirao Mastani actress will next be seen in several upcoming films including 83, Pathan and Cirkus.
Meanwhile, Deepika’s ex-boyfriend Siddharth Mallya called the actress “very inspiring”.
The actor commended Deepika for the work she has done in spreading awareness about mental health.
