Deepika Padukone has become the first Indian to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Bollywood actress is among the 35 names in the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Class of 2026.

The list features global figures across film, television, music, theatre, and sports.

Deepika Padukone is named in the motion pictures category, alongside Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Chris Columbus, Marion Cotillard, and Demi Moore.

Other recipients include pop icon Miley Cyrus, actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, singer Josh Groban, chef Gordon Ramsay, and basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal.

Peter Roth, former Warner Bros Television CEO and chair of the Walk of Fame selection committee, said:

“We are excited to announce the newest selection of 35 esteemed individuals who will be enshrined onto the Walk of Fame as part of the prestigious Class of 2026.

“These talented individuals have made significant contributions to the world of entertainment, and we are thrilled to honour them with this well-deserved recognition.”

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce also said on Instagram: “We are honoured to welcome you to the Walk of Fame Class of 2026.”

Ceremony dates have not yet been confirmed.

Honorees are given two years from the date of selection to schedule their star unveiling. If unclaimed, the honour expires.

Ranveer Singh praised the announcement with a heartfelt tribute on social media.

Sharing the announcement via Instagram Stories, he posted a glamorous image of his wife, tagged her account, and added the words “damn proud of you!” alongside Beyoncé’s ‘Run The World (Girls)’.

Meanwhile, Deepika appeared to keep things simple, writing “gratitude” on her Instagram account.

Deepika Padukone began her career with the Kannada-language film Aishwarya in 2006.

She rose to fame in Bollywood the following year with Om Shanti Om, starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The film was the highest-grossing Hindi release of 2007 and earned her a Filmfare Award.

Since then, Deepika Padukone has established herself as one of India’s most bankable and recognisable stars.

Her performances in Piku, Chennai Express, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, and Bajirao Mastani have been praised by both critics and audiences alike.

Deepika’s historic recognition signals a growing global appreciation for Indian cinema and talent.
