"I have already wasted three-and-a-half years.”
Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen have reportedly split up for good, with Charu accusing her husband of abuse.
The pair have been public about their marital issues and have split up in the past. But they got back together, determined to work on their marriage.
However, it is now reported that their marriage has no hope of reconciliation and Charu is moving forward with the divorce.
TV actress Charu has made a series of allegations against Rajeev, including physical violence.
She said: “Rajeev is temperamental, has abused and even raised his hand on me once or twice. He would suspect me of cheating on him.
“When I was shooting for Akbar Ka Bal Birbal, he sent messages to my co-actors to stay away from me.
“It became difficult for me to work. I feel that he was cheating on me, but that’s something I can’t prove.”
Stating that she is filing for divorce, Charu continued:
“I will initiate divorce proceedings and hope he agrees to it without causing more trouble.
“Like previously, I haven’t asked for alimony.
“I don’t want to drag this marriage anymore. I have already wasted three-and-a-half years.”
Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen got married in June 2019. It was Charu’s second marriage, having tied the knot with a businessman in 2007.
She and her first husband divorced in 2016, citing compatibility issues.
Rumours of Charu and Rajeev’s split came after it appeared as though they unfollowed each other on Instagram.
But Charu said it was actually Rajeev who blocked her.
She explained: “I did not unfollow him, he blocked me. He has gone to Delhi and after, he just blocked me. I have no clue what he is doing or where he is.”
On whether the pair are working on their marriage, Charu continued:
“We were indeed trying to sort it out. We were giving it a chance, but then I don’t think it is working.”
While Charu claimed that Rajeev has blocked her, it was also pointed out that he deleted all of his social media pictures with her.
Prior to splitting up for good, a source said:
“Though they came together and gave their marriage a second chance, the differences between the two seem irreconcilable.
“Now there is no scope for reconciliation between the two.”
