"Happy birthday dearest Gauri Khan, strength and love to you."

Bollywood stars have extended their support on Gauri Khan’s birthday following the arrest of her son Aryan Khan.

Gauri Khan has turned 51 on Friday, October 8, 2021, the same day her son appeared in court for an interim bail hearing.

Aryan was first detained on Sunday, October 3, 2021, by India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after a drug recovery operation.

It comes after a party on a Cordelia Cruises ship making its way to Goa was targeted in a midnight raid off of the Mumbai coast.

A number of substances including cocaine, MDMA and Mephedrone are all believed to have been consumed aboard the ship.

The NCB said that they had received a tip-off about the drug-fuelled party on the cruise so boarded, posing as passengers.

Aryan, who is 23-years-old, was detained and quizzed at the NCB’s base in Mumbai and has since been arrested.

He was one of the eight people in total who were detained by the bureau in connection with the incident on the cruise ship.

As a result of the controversy, Gauri, who is known for her lavish parties, has chosen not to have a birthday bash.

Instead, celebrities from across Bollywood have taken to social media to express their support and wish her a happy birthday.

Choreographer Farah Khan was one of them and posted a picture of Gauri with her husband Shah Rukh Khan on Instagram.

In the caption, she said: “The strength of a mother is second to none! The prayers of a parent can move mountains and part seas…

“Happy birthday to the strongest mother and woman I’ve personally witnessed this week.”

“Gauri Khan, here’s wishing you the best birthday present today.”

Film director Zoya Akhtar wrote on her Instagram Story:

“Happy Birthday Gauri. May you stay strong. Stay brave. Stay you.”

Fashion designer Manish Malhotra also shared a photo of him with Gauri onto his own story on the platform.

He added the caption: “Happy birthday dearest Gauri Khan, strength and love to you.”

Gauri’s daughter, Suhana Khan, took to Instagram as well, sharing a vintage photo of both her parents from a 90s photoshoot.

The 21-year-old simply said: “Happy birthday ma.”

This was followed by a heart emoji.

Suhana’s friend and Bollywood actress Ananya Panday was the first to comment, adding her own heart emoji under the post.

A Mumbai court ordered Aryan Khan to remain in judicial custody for 14 days, rejecting the NCB’s request for further custody.

Neither of his parents have yet made a statement on the lead up to the court hearing on Gauri Khan’s birthday.
