a 10-minute pilates workout for those who are "short on time"
A Bollywood celebrity fitness instructor has dropped a series of Pilates workouts on her Instagram page that “anyone” can do.
Yasmin Karachiwala has an array of high-profile clients, including the likes of Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and Preity Zinta.
Pilates has become a fitness craze online, with celebrities, influencers and women founding their own fitness studios specialising in the workout.
Pilates is a full-body exercise that focuses on posture and strengthening your core through controlled movements.
For women, pilates can help with significant milestones in life, from menopause and pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
There are also many forms of pilates, ranging from mat, reformer for more intensity, barre (fusion of ballet and pilates) and contemporary, according to Psychreg.
One video shows a 10-minute pilates workout for those who are “short on time” but will still provide the “strength, tone and focus your body needs”.
Yasmin suggests effective results to complete each exercise for 10 to 12 reps, for three sets each.
Here is a breakdown of Yasmin’s 10-minute pilates workout you can do at home:
- Roll Down To Plank – This move helps to get your body warmed up and strengthens your core while in the plank position.
- Leg Pull Front – This one targets your glutes and abs, and improves your balance by lifting one leg at a time and pulsing.
- Seated Spine Twist – For those who spend long periods sitting at a desk and crouching, this move improves posture with rotations to move the spine.
- Swimming To Hundreds – This move provides an all-round core killer workout.
- Rolling Like A Ball – This involves rolling back and forth to help strengthen your spine, curving into a ball, and working the core at the same time.
The post received 8,900 likes on Instagram, with many users praising the workout.

Women’s wellness coach Julia Willmott outlined the reasons why Pilates helps with workplace wellness.

“Pilates exercises also require focus which can enhance mental clarity and lead to better productivity at work.”
