Pakistan’s latest obsession, Shae Gill, has left a mark on fans after her Coke Studio banger ‘Pasoori’ with Ali Sethi.
The singer, since then, has been on a career-high.
Shae Gill last collaborated with Atif Aslam and by the looks of it, her next venture is with celebrated singer and former Coke Studio producer, Bilal Maqsood.
Taking to Twitter, the former ‘Strings’ singer, without sharing much about the impending collaboration, shared:
“It was wonderful working with Shae Gill on my latest project (2.0) Can’t wait to share it with you all!”
He also shared a picture with Shae Gill.
Earlier, Atif Aslam and Shae Gill’s highly-anticipated Covid-themed collaboration was revealed.
‘Manzil’, a song dedicated to the Covid effort as well as the ongoing work towards prevention, premiered on YouTube on June 19, 2022.
The track has been released in collaboration with the US embassy, with the video featuring Sarwat Gilani.
The song served as an uplifting message of hope and perseverance made complete with the soul-stirring vocals of Atif Aslam and Shae Gill’s soothing voice.
The video has been directed by Sarmad Khoosat, with Gilani writing on Instagram:
“A beautiful reminder to stay safe, healthy and get boosted. (US embassy) and (Khoosat Films) collaborate with the superstar Atif Aslam and our newest sensation Shae Gill to remind us what our manzil (destination) is.”
Released in Coke Studio Pakistan’s season 14, ‘Pasoori’ is reminiscent of folk tunes popular in Pakistan and India and fused with modern beats, it has taken the world by storm.
As the song proved yet again how music transcends boundaries, the internet is flooded with soulful covers, mashups and much more.
Shilpa Shetty used the song as she shared a behind-the-scenes video grooving to the Punjabi-Urdu number from her recent fashion show.
Arjun Kapoor too recently showed his appreciation for the song while sharing it on his Instagram Story and even tagging the two original singers.
Many popular television stars like Jasmin Bhasin to Sanjeeda Shaikh have used the song recently professing their love for the Pakistani song.
Earlier, Armaan Malik had expressed his admiration for the song.
The ‘Dil Mein Ho Tum’ singer, who has been a part of Coke Studio India, took to Twitter to praise the work coming out of the platform from Pakistan.
He said: “Coke Studio Pakistan is next level.”
An hour later, he shared his favourite track from the season: “Currently obsessed with Pasoori by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill!”
Not only that, but he also sang a few lines from the song himself.
