Bhumi pulls out all the stops to look dazzling.

The trailer for Bhumi Pednekar’s Thank You For Coming has been released and it promises to be one big fashion fest.

The sex-based comedy also stars Shehnaaz Gill, Kusha Kapila and Karan Kundrra.

The trailer highlights many issues which are considered to be taboo within the Asian community, such as sexual pleasure for a female, and her quest to feel fulfilled.

It showcases the story of Kanika Kapoor (Bhumi), a single woman in her thirties, and her quest to find her true love and pleasure.

Her journey of finding the one is anything but easy but things get slightly easier with her friends Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Singh and Shibani Bedi by her side.

At her 30th birthday party, Kanika confesses that she has never had an orgasm.

Meanwhile, her arch-nemesis Kusha Kapila misses no chance to mock her.

Karan features as one of Kanika’s potential partners while Anil Kapoor – who is the film’s producer – has a special appearance.

The interactions between the girl gang add to the film’s comedy while Bhumi pulls out all the stops to look dazzling.

The trailer has been received with positivity and many have come forward to express their feelings.

One observer commented: “The screen presence of Karan Kundrra is awesome.

“He looks so handsome and charming as always. Can’t wait to see him on the big screen once again.”

Another said: “Finally, we are getting films that talk about taboo subjects and the stigma surrounding them.

“More power to such movies and the whole team!”

One person was all praise for Bhumi and said that she never disappointed her fans with her choice of script.

However, the poster for the upcoming movie has sparked outrage among some netizens, who believe the poster is vulgar and on the cusp of pornography.

The poster shows a seemingly happy Bhumi Pednekar in bed.

As a result, Anurag Thakur (Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting) has been criticised for awarding Ekta Kapoor with the prestigious Padma Shri award in 2020.

Alongside Anurag Thakur, the Indian Censor Board has also been questioned for approving the movie and once again Ekta Kapoor was called out for the creation and production of such films.

Ekta Kapoor shared the trailer on her Instagram and an angry follower commented that she should make films that were family-friendly.

“Please make a movie we can watch with our family as well! Fed up with these so-called new genre movies!”

Amongst the controversy surrounding Thank You For Coming, a number of movie fanatics have said the movie is thought to be a refreshing change that needs to be brought to Indian cinema.

The film will premiere at the 14th Toronto International Film Festival 2023, from October 4 to October 13, and is set for release in cinemas on October 6, 2023.
