Despite featuring Ranbir Kapoor in a lead role, Roy was somewhat of a Bollywood disappointment. However, the same cannot be said of its main track, ‘Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan’, which was a complete smash hit.

Meet Bros Anjjan and Kanika Kapoor must be on your wedding playlist with their fun and lively track. Kapoor was nominated for the Guild, IIFA, and GIMA awards for ‘Best Female Playback Singer’ on the song.

Race – ‘Pehli Nazar Mein’ (2008)

Kal Ho Naa Ho – ‘Maahi Ve’ (2003)

Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Saif Ali Khan, Kal Ho Naa Ho was a massive Bollywood success upon its release in 2003.

There are several great tracks in the film, including ‘Pretty Woman’ and ‘It’s The Time to Disco’. But ‘Maahi Ve’ just about beats them to being on our DESIblitz Top 10.

Sholay is considered to be one of the finest Indian films ever produced, and that is why ‘Yeh Dosti’ makes our list. Before any lyrics are even sung, the opening beat is sure to attract many of your guests to the dancefloor.

‘Yeh Dosti’ is a real classic, and has been described as the ultimate friendship anthem. Many will fondly remember the fun scene in the film between Jai (Amitabh Bachchan) and Veeru (Dharmendra).

Your 2016 wedding playlist would not be complete without an appearance from the pioneer of bhangra that is Surjit Bindrakhia. And he makes our list with ‘Tera Yaar Bolda’.

Blessed with one of the greatest, and most powerful, voices the industry has ever seen, the star was known for his “hekh” – the singing of a note continuously in one breath.

Balwinder Safri ~ ‘Rahey Rahey’ (1994)
