The IIFA’s are a chance for the Bollywood style studs to flaunt their style.
The 15th Annual IIFA Awards has been in the limelight, Bollywood’s finest have all jetted off to Tampa Bay, Florida, to celebrate the best of Bollywood.
The events kicked off with dancing, awards and John Travolta! But aside all the amazing talent, the awards have a glamorous fashion side.
For the IFFA awards, Bollywood celebrities have to dress to impress, which can be hard to achieve for some. DESIblitz has compiled a list of the best dressed in Bollywood, both ladies and gents, at IIFA awards.
So, who made it on our DESIblitz Best Dressed list?
Best Dressed Men
1. Ranveer Singh
Ranveer Singh has to be crowned the best dressed male of the night. He wore a quirky grey striped suit, which was very well fitted. Ranveer matched it with a black and white checked shirt, but that isn’t where it ends.
It is the tiny details that matter, Ranveer accessorised with a purple spotted tie and delicate purple floral pocket square. To top off the look, he wore brown brogues and a chunky watch. Ranveer never puts a fashion foot wrong, hats off!
2. Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik Roshan wore a well fitted tux. It was not the simple black tux though, Hrithik opted instead for a blue tux with a white shirt, and floral lining, adding a well-noted quirky factor. He matched it up with a blue velvet pocket square and a black bow tie, a truly classic look from Hrithik Roshan.
3. Anil Kapoor
Anil Kapoor is one of the golden actors of Bollywood. His black and navy tux was a perfect fit and it had two-tone collars. Kapoor finished the outfit with a red bowtie and pocket square, a perfect contrast.
4. Danush
Danush the South Indian star of Raanjihanaa (2013) also made a slick impression at the awards. He wore the common choice of all a black tux, but all the textures made him stand out.
His shiny silk shirt contrasted nicely with his soft glittery collars and tie. To complete the look he wore shiny loafers and sported a rough beard, that oozed Indian bad-boy charm.
5. Siddharth Malhotra
Siddharth went for the traditional Eastern look for the IIFA’s. He wore a khaki green sherwani/Nehru jacket with a front gold zip detail, paired with black trousers. He completed the look with his tousled hair and rugged looks. A real Desi dress sense for the IIFA’s!
Worse for Wear
Everybody has a soft spot for joker Arshad Warsi, but this year the cheeky chappy unfortunately let the audience and his fans down. He wore a suit that looked too big for him and opted safely for black and white. Although his suit was formal, his shirt was un-tucked, and he wore no tie.
Best Dressed Women
1. Deepika Padukone
Deepika, Deepika, Deepika, our stunning queen of Bollywood is untouchable. She definitely did well for the IIFA’s, wearing a Red lace Zuhair Murad gown, with a messy bun and oxblood lipstick.
Zuhair Murad was a clever choice for the Western setting, as the fashion designer already has a significant fan base among Hollywood celebrities. The full sleeved red gown had a fluffy red trimming. No doubt that this sexy siren gets our vote for the best dressed at the IIFA’s!
2. Kareena Kapoor Khan
Kareena Kapoor Khan, who was one of the stars of the night also shone in her IIFA awards outfit. She wore a sexy black silk and nude dress, with minimal jewellery and make up. A spot of neon on her nails and this simple elegant look was a winner for Kareena. As far as accessories go, Saif Ali Khan on her arm was a perfect finishing touch.
3. Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi Sinha has been crowned the queen of curves. She wore a black and blue gown with sequins. The gown contoured her curves perfectly and she matched it with a black clutch. With all that sparkle she kept her makeup to a minimum.
4. Yami Gautam
Yami Gautam wore a figure hugging LBD, with cut outs and slits in all the right places. She matched a gold clutch and wore minimal makeup and jewellery.
5. Vani Kapoor
Vani Kapoor proves all that glitters is gold, as she dazzled the crowds. She wore a glittery backless golden gown, with red lips and a classy bun. Her mantra is: “I always believe that you should wear what makes you feel good and comfortable.”
With vast amounts of Bollywood beauties, obviously some narrowly missed the list. Priyanka Chopra also dazzled in a white and silver gown and Bipasha Basu wowed with her black cut out gown.
Worse for Wear
Richa Chadda had an unfortunate outfit disaster. Her heels seemed to be too small as her toes over hung the edge. This wasn’t the only thing to small, her black dress, seemed all too tight on the bottom half.
Divya Dutta is an amazing and beautiful actress, but her dress wasn’t working for her. It lacked in glamour and appeared to be a wedding dress more than a Green Carpet outfit.
The IIFA’s are a chance for the Bollywood style studs to flaunt their style. Some narrowly missed the list by playing it safe.
Handsome hunk, Aditya Roy Kapoor left it too safe with his black and white suit, while Aditi Rao Hydari looked stunning in her black backless gown, but it wasn’t as backless as Vani Kapoor’s ensemble.
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone proved to be the most daring, stylish and unique. They made it to the top of our DESIblitz Best Dressed list.
