Saeed's suave plaid suit definitely serves for the occasion
The 6th HUM Awards 2018 took place on the 28th and 29th July in Toronto, Canada.
Pakistan’s biggest stars came out in full force to celebrate the best of entertainment, Film and TV.
Our favourite actors and actresses certainly dressed to impress with their sharp suits and their designer gowns.
The HUM Awards has always been an extravagant display of couture fashion and outfits from award show can often act like a hub for fashion inspiration.
Here are some of our best-dressed looks from the HUM awards 2018:
Mawra Hocane
Mawra Hocane’s look is a strong mix of drama and sophistication.
This off the shoulder gown designed by Bollywood’s favourite Manish Malhotra starts with a dramatic and intricate top-heavy detailing that weaves its way down the dress.
Mawra styles the dress with heavy earrings and several rings. She also opts for a very defined middle parting for her hair.
The millennial pastel-pink dress is great for summer 2018 because it is the colour for this season.
Iqra Aziz
Suno Chanda star Iqra Aziz also went down the millennial trend route with this incredible pink dress for the HUM Awards 2018.
She paired this look with nude coloured sandals and sleek straight hair.
This look works so well because she matches everything together and uses the same shade of pink throughout the look.
Aziz ensures to match the colour of her eye-shadow and nails with the colour of her dress.
She also matches the silver embroidery on the top of her dress with silver earrings.
Mahira Khan
Popular Pakistani actress Mahira Khan opts for a simple and elegant look for the HUM Awards 2018.
This beautiful ensemble consists of two different designs. Her dress begins with a silver intricate embroidery whereas the bottom half of her dress opts for subtle floral detailing with a subtle pink undertone.
Khan styles this dress with silver earrings and subtle pink lips.
Nayab Khan
This simple floor-length gown compliments Nayab’s skin tone perfectly.
This dress is definitely all about minimalism, as Khan opts for a no make-up, make-up look and prominent eyebrows.
The figure-hugging gown’s main focal point is the top-heavy detailing and Khan’s long and wavy black hair that compliments this look perfectly.
Sajal Ali
Sajal Ali’s cute princess dress also complies with summer 2018’s love for the colour pink.
It’s clear that Ali wants the main focal point of her look to be the gown itself, she has loosely curled her hair and placed it in a side parting in order to compliment her gown.
She styles her dress with minimal make-up and little jewellery.
A key feature of this look is how Ali has matched the colour of her blusher and the colour of her dress perfectly.
Fawad Khan
Fawad Khan looks smart in this dark grey textured suit.
Opting for a classic white shirt and sleek black tie, Khan accessorises with a plain pocket square and lapel pins.
Although he looks very dapper in this look, swapping the white shirt with a black one and losing the tie would make this look into a statement piece.
Arsalan Butt
We love Arsalan Butt’s take on a classic tuxedo. The star opts for a tuxedo blazer and waistcoat with dress pants.
Although the trousers are slightly ill-fitting, and his white shirt peeks out at the bottom of his waistcoat, he does look dapper with a black bow tie.
Yasir Hussin
There are so many things going right in this look!
Hussin elevates the traditional monotone suit and takes it to the next level. With sparkling lapels and a black bow tie, Yasir nailed his hosting duties with this look.
The white handkerchief matches his white shirt and makes the look come across as very well thought out.
Yasir is a perfect example of how you can make a simple outfit stand out through the use of different textures.
Shahzad Sheikh
This asymmetrical cross between a sherwani and Nehru Jacket is a great look for Shahzad Sheikh.
The all-black ensemble features military style silver buttons that add a modern edge to the traditional wear.
The jacket features a band ghala collar and Sheikh matches it with plain black trousers and dress shoes.
Humayun Saeed
Saeed’s suave plaid suit definitely serves for the occasion.
It is clear that Humayun is not afraid of colour as his suit consists of grey, white, black and even a little bit of red.
The use of the red handkerchief ties the entire look together as it compliments all the colours used suit.
Overall, some of the most iconic looks from the HUM awards 2018 would include Iqra Aziz, Humayun Saeed, Mawra Hocane and of course, Mahira Khan.
Whether you are a big fan of fashion or barely understand the industry it’s always worth remembering, confidence will always be your best accessory.
