Rupanty Akid has made a remarkable entry into Hindi cinema with Hindi Vindi.
It is a joint India-Australia production that premiered in Australia on February 27, 2025.
Directed by Ali Sayed, the film explores intergenerational language barriers within immigrant communities.
It features a diverse cast, including Neena Gupta, Mihir Ahuja, and Australian singer Guy Sebastian.
Rupanty played Rihanna, a character that required her to speak with both an Australian accent and broken Hindi.
Her performance struck a chord with audiences, particularly within the Bangladeshi community in Australia.
Many viewers at the premiere celebrated her success as their own, seeing her achievement as a proud moment for Bangladeshis living abroad.

Speaking about her experience, Rupanty described it as a dream come true.
She credited Sydney’s theatre scene for shaping her acting career and expressed her aspirations to work in Bangladeshi, Bollywood, or Hollywood films.
The road to Hindi Vindi was not easy. Rupanty initially learned about the audition process and applied online.
After several screen tests, she was called for a live audition.
There, she proved her ability to blend an Australian accent with imperfect Hindi, ultimately securing the role.
Born to Bangladeshi parents in Australia, Rupanty has long admired Bangladeshi actors.
Among her favourites are Deepa Khandakar and Tarin Jahan, whom she has known personally since childhood.
This early exposure to the entertainment industry helped strengthen her passion for acting.
Her acting career began in 2013 when she debuted as a child artist in Angti, directed by Sagar Jahan.
She later appeared in Mahfuz Ahmed’s Keboli Raat Hoye Jay and Hello Bangladesh.
In 2024, she gained widespread recognition for her role in Shihab Shaheen’s web film Kacher Manhush Durey Thuiya.
Looking ahead, Rupanty is set to appear in Bonolota Sen, directed by Masud Hasan Ujjal.
With her successful debut in Hindi Vindi, she has opened new doors in the industry and is eager to explore further opportunities.
