“Cheap attention-seeking, brother, nothing else.”
Pakistani YouTuber and social media influencer, Azlan Shah, sparked controversy after announcing he was “getting married again” on Instagram stories.
The post immediately left his followers confused, with many unsure if it was a serious statement or just a joke.
Azlan wrote that he felt it was important to share the news himself before anyone else could speculate or spread rumours.
Some fans reacted with humour, thinking it was a prank, while others sent harsh messages questioning his intentions and morality.
Hours later, Azlan posted a clarification video with his wife, Dr Warisha Azlan, explaining that it was not a second marriage.
“I am marrying again, but not doing a second marriage. I am marrying Warisha again.”
He revealed that the announcement was actually part of a creative anniversary surprise planned for his wife, not a real wedding event.
Warisha, who appeared beside him in the video, commented that the way he revealed the surprise was very poorly executed and misleading.
Azlan repeatedly apologised, saying: “I am sorry and I love you.”
She added: “I cannot even let him think about a second marriage.”
Despite the clarification, social media users criticised the stunt, labelling it tasteless and offensive due to cultural sensitivity around second marriages.
One follower wrote: “Ah, just what we need.
“Another generation of men making ‘doosri shaadi’ jokes is unnecessary and harmful.”
Another comment stated: “You need to come up with something better.
“I love you both, but this was a big mistake and poorly timed.”
Some questioned the motivation behind the post, asking if attention-seeking had become more important than ethical behaviour.

Other users shared harsher criticisms, saying: “Cheap attention-seeking, brother, nothing else.”
One follower even warned: “Better turn off your comments, you’re about to get a lot of backlash.”
Azlan Shah attempted to maintain a playful tone, laughing with Warisha during the video and continuously apologising for any offence caused.
The couple, married in 2022, shares a two-year-old daughter and is usually known for their lighthearted, entertaining social media content.
Fans were generally disappointed, feeling that their ‘special announcements’ had become quite meaningless now.
The couple usually posts humorous content, but this stunt was received differently by followers.
While they’re about to celebrate their anniversary, social media continues to react, with many urging creators to stop such cheap publicity stunts.
