"I had to tell her that this has never happened before.”
Ayesha Khan has spoken about the darker side of artificial intelligence, revealing that morphed images and videos of her are circulating online.
The actress said the misuse of AI is alarming and deeply disturbing. She warned that manipulated content is becoming increasingly normalised across social media platforms.
On the issue, Ayesha said the impact of AI online has become frightening and difficult to process.
Recalling a personal incident, she revealed that her mother once came across an AI-generated video featuring her. The discovery left her shaken and forced her to explain the reality behind it.
She said: “The AI thing that has started is very scary.
“You have made a whole app to sexualise women on the internet… I can’t humanly process this information that this is happening.
“There was a picture of me and Vijay sir… it was turned into an AI video where we are hugging each other.
“I had to tell her that this has never happened before.”
Ayesha added that she has seen several altered images of herself that look highly realistic and it is “sad how most people would not know that it’s AI”.
Addressing wider concerns, Ayesha also spoke about privacy, consent, and paparazzi culture. She criticised the circulation of viral clips without permission.
She continued: “People don’t understand consent. You can’t do these things without asking.
“They know it’s wrong… you’re capturing someone’s oops moment and even posting that publicly.”
However, Ayesha Khan clarified that not all paparazzi behave in the same way. She described many photographers as “good people” who respect her boundaries.
She said several photographers comply when she asks for certain pictures not to be posted. According to Ayesha, mutual respect still exists within parts of the industry.
