“This tour has been under discussion for years"

For the first time in its decades-long career, Bangladeshi rock band Aurthohin will be touring the United States.

Kicking off in the final week of October 2025, the tour will continue through mid-December, with stops in major cities across the country.

Fans can expect performances in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Pennsylvania, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, and Virginia.

The final list of cities and venues will be announced soon on Aurthohin’s official Facebook page and other platforms.

This marks a significant return for the band’s iconic frontman, Saidus Salehin Sumon, better known as Bassbaba Sumon.

Over the past few years, Sumon faced serious health battles, including cancer treatment and multiple spinal surgeries.

These challenges had kept him away from the stage and left the band inactive both at home and abroad.

Aurthohin’s manager Ehsanul Haque said this tour has been years in the making.

He said: “Due to Sumon bhai’s health issues, we couldn’t travel abroad for several years. We also haven’t participated in many local events during this time.

“This tour has been under discussion for years, and finally, bhai has given his approval.”

Fans have long awaited the return of Aurthohin, whose raw lyrics and heavy sound helped define a generation of Bangladeshi rock.

With Sumon now recovering and ready to reconnect with global audiences, anticipation for the tour is high.

Currently, the band’s lineup includes Sumon on vocals and bass, Mark Don on drums, and Ehtesham Ali on guitar.

Each member brings their own energy to the stage. Together, they continue to evolve while staying rooted in the spirit of their early work.

Adding to the excitement, another celebrated band, Artcell, is preparing to release Phoenix-er Diary 2.

The first part, Phoenix-er Diary 1, was released earlier and received wide acclaim.

According to Haque, much of the new album has already been completed, and fans can expect it in late 2025.

Aurthohin’s return to regular performances signals more than just a comeback; it’s a revival of a band that helped shape modern Bangladeshi music.

Fans are already celebrating the announcement with an outpouring of love across social media.

One user wrote: “Crying happy tears! Aurthohin live in the US? Dreams do come true.”
