Arjun Kapoor was injured due to a ceiling collapse on the set of his upcoming film Mere Husband Ki Biwi.

The accident occurred during a song sequence at Mumbai’s Imperial Palace, Royal Palms.

Reports indicate the incident was caused by vibrations from the sound system used during filming.

While no fatalities were reported, injuries ranged from minor to severe.

Arjun sustained minor injuries, while a camera attendant suffered a spinal injury, and the director of photography (DOP) fractured his thumb.

Choreographer Vijay Ganguly described the scene as terrifying, stating:

“Had the entire ceiling fallen on us, it could have been disastrous, but many people still got hurt.”

This incident has reignited concerns over safety on film sets, particularly at older shooting locations.

Vijay Ganguly expressed frustration, saying: “Production companies often assume safety checks are done, but the reality is many locations remain unverified.”

Following the mishap, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) urged Maharashtra’s Chief Minister and the BMC to enforce stricter regulations.

Fans have also been concerned about Arjun since they learned about his injury.

Despite the setback, the production team remains committed to releasing the romantic comedy on February 21, 2025, as scheduled.

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film stars Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh in a quirky tale of romantic entanglements.

Producer Jackky Bhagnani described it as “a fresh, modern take on relationships, filled with humour and heart”.

Mudassar Aziz said: “Mere Husband Ki Biwi celebrates the quirks of relationships.

“It’s light-hearted, relatable, and designed to leave audiences smiling long after they leave the theatre.”

The team also released a motion poster along with the premiere date, teasing the film’s comedic tone.

It showed a man’s shoe caught between a stiletto and a Punjabi ‘jutti’, hinting at a chaotic love story.

The story promises an unpredictable journey through a “love circle” rather than a typical love triangle.

While the accident has cast a shadow over the production, the team is determined to complete the film and deliver a memorable cinematic experience.

Although shocked by the accident, the public is eagerly anticipating the film’s release.

Arjun Kapoor, who was last seen in Singham Again, has yet to react to this incident.
