Anthony Joshua has hit back at the likes of Amir Khan and Carl Froch, who have voiced their criticism of the heavyweight.
His future has been called into doubt by several former champions turned pundits following two successive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk.
This resulted in Joshua losing his heavyweight world titles.
Johnny Nelson, Tony Bellew, Carl Froch and Amir Khan are among several who have spoken about the possibility that Joshua is coming to the end of his career.
Facing Jermaine Franklin on April 1, 2023, at London’s o2 Arena, Joshua said he will knock his opponent into “a grave of his own digging”.
Joshua also hit back at his critics, saying:
“These people don’t get me. Not on my wavelength. Not at my level.
“I don’t use boxing as a platform to rant and rave and disrespect other fighters.
“If these people have something to say, say it to me. They have my number. Call me.
“If I have something to say about you, I’ll say it face to face.
“I won’t talk about my enemies online. I prefer to stay silent. These people want me to talk back but why should I get dragged in by clowns?
“When it was Carl talking s*** about me, I messaged him directly to ask what it was all about.
“When it was Amir and that s*** about me with his wife why did he go online? At least message me.
“And then when I see these guys at a fight or somewhere they’re coming up and saying hi AJ how are you? How does that work?
“Where I come from it’s not about getting clouts it’s about results.”
Anthony Joshua and Amir Khan have a history.
In 2017, Khan accused his wife Faryal of cheating on him with Joshua during a publicised argument between the couple.
Although Joshua denied sleeping with Faryal, a tweet from his account claimed he wished he did.
On March 19, 2022, a fan asked:
“AJ lad did you f**k Mrs Khan back in the day?”
The reply read: “Honestly I didn’t. With all the accusations around me name. I wish I did.”
Anthony Joshua also blasted his ex-coach Robert Garcia, saying:
“He went public about some difficult days in those training camps. Said nothing about the good work.
“Weird. We don’t do that. There are always some problems in long camps. So why did he go there.”
