"Take control of my life and happiness."

The trailer for Ananya Panday’s new film, Ctrl, has been released. It shows the star as Nella Awasthi.

Nella is going through a rough phase with her boyfriend, Joe Mascarenhas (Vihaan Samat).

Ctrl promises to highlight the difficulties of relationships and the dangers of AI.

The trailer opens with a serious Nella logging on to a website named ctrlapp.in.

She creates an account and clicks on an AI companion called The Comic Flirt.

The companion says: “Are you aware of all the services I can offer you?”

A teary-eyed Nella replies: “Take control of my life.”

The voice responds: “And happiness.”

The trailer then cuts across iconography depicting a happy relationship between Nella and Joe while Nella repeats in a voiceover:

“Take control of my life and happiness.”

Nella is then seen shouting at Joe. She bellows: “You’ve made a joke of our relationship!”

She then complains to her friend: “He cheated on me, Bina, and everyone is blaming me for it.”

Nella asks The Comic Flirt: “I just want to erase my ex. Can you do that for me?”

The Ctrl trailer goes on to show the AI companion erasing Joe’s image from photographs of him and Nella.

Nella answers a call to her friend and finds out that Joe has gone missing.

Towards the end of the trailer, Nella tells The Comic Flirt: “Joe has gone now.”

The Comic Flirt questions: “Isn’t that what you wanted?”

The trailer of Ctrl received positive reactions from fans with many directing praise towards Ananya Panday.

One fan said: “Ananya has constantly improved since Dream Girl 2. She is doing so well now.

Dream Girl 2 became a super-hit and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan  was a super-hit as well.

Call Me Bae is coming with Season Two with huge success, and now Ctrl? She is doing so good.”

Another user wrote: “Ananya is improving her acting skills. People also underestimated Alia Bhatt but she proved herself.”

A third person commented: “Man, Ananya is on fire these days. A new star has arrived! Can’t wait for her projects.”

Speaking about the film, Ananya enthused: “Ctrl has been a totally unique journey for me and the team.

“It’s told in what we call the screen life format, which is telling a story in an almost voyeuristic way using the technology that we use literally every single day.

“Our goal has been to create this incredible immersive experience.

“Netflix as a platform has really helped us in reaching our global audience.”

Ctrl has been directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and will premier on Netflix on October 4, 2024.
