"If I am guilty, I want proof."

Anamul Haque Bijoy has officially vowed to pursue legal action after being excluded from the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) players’ auction list.

He personally submitted a legal notice to the Bangladesh Cricket Board, addressing the letter to the BCB President and the BPL member secretary.

Bijoy was accompanied by media as he confirmed: “I have sent a legal notice to the BCB, addressed to the President of the BPL Governing Council and to the Advisor.

“I came today to submit it personally. The BCB has received it, and I have also shared everything with you individually via WhatsApp.”

He added: “If anyone has anything to say, they can speak to my lawyer. I expect him to hold a press briefing tomorrow.

“I will update you after that. I intend to take this matter to the highest level, InshaAllah.”

The exclusion involved nine players, including Bijoy, after a review by the BCB’s integrity unit, citing red-flag concerns from the previous BPL season.

Despite three petitions challenging the omission being dismissed by the High Court, Bijoy continued to demand transparency regarding the alleged misconduct.

“First of all, I would not have done this live if I could have reached them over the phone. I have tried to contact them via email.

“If they had responded, maybe the live would not have been necessary.”

He emphasised: “So my first question is: After today’s news, when I was dropped from the draft, what is the reason behind it? Am I guilty?

“If I am guilty, I want proof. On behalf of the people of Bangladesh, I want to say to BCB, to the BPL Governing Council – if I am guilty, then ban me for life.”

Bijoy also questioned the leaks from BCB, saying: “How did the meeting I had with BCB Anti-Corruption – the questions they asked me there – become public in Prothom Alo?

“Who are these people leaking internal information to journalists?”

He raised concerns about unpaid earnings, noting: “In last year’s BPL, I had a contract of 50 lakh taka. I received only 20 lakh.

“For the past year, I have made countless calls, exchanged emails, and personally visited those responsible.”

Bijoy concluded:

“I have not done any illegal activity that I should feel guilty for.”

He also highlighted that the BCB’s red-flag measure applies only to the BPL, not other domestic cricket events, while emphasising the need for clarity to protect players’ reputations.

Anamul Haque Bijoy ended by thanking his supporters, asserting: “To everyone here who supports me, loves me – my message is crystal clear: I can say that I am 100 percent honest.

“Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for loving me.”
