"Why is showing this off seen as cool?"
Amir Khan faced criticism for claiming he purchased his new Dubai home with cash while some Brits are struggling to make ends meet amid the ongoing cost of living crisis.
The retired boxer, who is worth approximately £31 million, already owns several properties in the UK and the UAE.
He has now added an upscale new home in Dubai to his portfolio.
Amir shared a post of himself signing the necessary paperwork and getting the keys to his new property.
However, he faced backlash from many of his followers as they felt he was bragging about his wealth.
Amir wrote: “God is great – another property added to my portfolio. Suffer, invest, profit.”
Infuriating netizens, he added: “All my investments are cash paid. Never been in debt.”
Many claimed he was behaving childishly by publicly displaying his wealth while others felt the post was unnecessary.
One asked: “Why is showing this off seen as cool?”
Another wrote: “Somethings are to be kept private. You aren’t 12 to be posting these things and showing off.”
A third fumed: “For whose benefit are you posting this for? Go about your business.”
One comment read: “Come on dude. Post something that is helping people, not this.”

Pointing out that this is not the first time Amir Khan has posted about his expensive purchases, a user wrote:
“Not sure why you advertise your purchases!
“Really keep it to yourself! No one needs to know what you have… I thought this the last time you posted your watches. It’s unnecessary.”
Meanwhile, others used the opportunity to make fun of Amir’s boxing career as one said:
“Hope the windows are made of better glass than your chin.”
Amir Khan previously faced criticism in December 2020 when he shared a video of his new Dubai holiday home.
The video featured Amir taking viewers on a tour of the mansion, which featured marble floors, a modern stone staircase and an extensive lounge-diner.
Given that the video was posted during the Covid-19 pandemic, many were upset with Amir as one said:
“Why do you need to post on here when times are so tough for so many people? Have respect for families that can’t even afford to eat.”
Another wrote: “No need to share it on here for validation, Amir. That’s just feeding your ego.
“I’m sure your family are grateful, and will in time tell you so.”
