“Why does the aesthetic only matter with the girl?”

Ali Zafar, the renowned singer celebrated for his string of hit songs, recently treated fans to his latest creation, ‘Yaar Di Akh’.

The song quickly gained traction, amassing a staggering 1.8 million views.

In a true display of his multifaceted talents, Ali Zafar took on the roles of director and producer for the music video.

The video features the alluring model Aneesa Sheikh, who perfectly complements the song’s essence.

Penned and composed by the talented Hassan Badshah, ‘Yaar Di Akh’ is a testament to Ali Zafar’s artistic vision.

However, the music video soon found itself at the centre of controversy.

Some viewers raised concerns about the portrayal of gender roles and the wardrobe choices in the video.

One viewer pointed out what they perceived as the objectification of women.

They highlighted the stark contrast between the revealing clothing worn by the female model in a beach setting and Ali Zafar’s trench coat.

The question arose: Was the woman being reduced to a sex symbol while the male singer remained clothed?

The viewer questioned: “I love Ali, but honestly, it’s stupid that the girl is wearing something revealing in the cold to be sexualised while he is standing there comfortably in his trench coat.”

“Why does the aesthetic only matter with the girl?”

In response, Ali Zafar stepped up to address the concerns.

He clarified that the filming locations for the model and himself were different due to varying weather conditions.

Ali replied: “These are two different beaches on two different continents, captured at different moments in time.

“I was in Sydney, while Aneesa Sheikh was in Los Angeles.

“This video is meant to reflect the beauty of connection across distances where each of us wore what we felt.

“I value your comment but I say let’s cultivate a world where we celebrate individuality and refrain from judging others, especially women, for their choices in self-expression.

“In diversity, we find unity. Love and peace.”

Another viewer asked:

“Why are you wearing a trench coat on a beach?”

To which Ali replied: “It was cold J.”

According to this comment, to accommodate the respective settings, different wardrobe choices were made.

It seems practicality played a role in the decision-making process.

Despite Ali Zafar’s explanation, the debate continued among viewers and followers.
