Varinder Singh Ghuman, who amassed fame as an actor and a bodybuilder, died of a heart attack. He was 42 years old.

Varinder Singh Ghuman, a renowned actor and bodybuilder, passed away on October 9, 2025.

He was known for starring alongside Salman Khan in Tiger 3 (2023).

Varinder also appeared in films including Kabaddi Once Again (2012), Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans (2014), and Marjaavaan (2019).

In 2009, Varinder won second place in the Mr Asia pageant while winning the Mr India competition.

The acclaimed star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, hired him to promote his health products in Asia as a brand ambassador.

Varinder was known for his bodybuilding prowess despite being a vegetarian.

At the time of his death, he was in Amritsar seeking treatment, but suffered a heart attack, which claimed his life.

Many people paid tribute to Varinder on social media following his passing.

One user wrote: “He was a fitness icon, Varinder Singh Ghuman, one of the most well-known faces in Punjabi cinema and bodybuilding, has sadly passed away due to a heart attack in Amritsar.

“If such a fit man, who exercised regularly and lived a disciplined life, can die of a heart attack, what’s the surety of our lives?

“Sometimes, I really feel all this healthy eating and fitness craze is just a scam.”

“Really sad.”

Another user added: “Varinder Singh Ghuman, a towering figure in Indian bodybuilding and Punjabi cinema, has passed away due to a heart attack in Amritsar.

“Known for his Herculean physique and charismatic screen presence, Ghuman left an indelible mark both onstage and onscreen.”

“From winning Mr India in 2009 to representing Arnold Schwarzenegger’s brand in Asia, he became a trailblazer in fitness and entertainment, inspiring countless fans along the way .”

Pargat Singh, also condoled Varinder’s death and reflected:

“It’s deeply painful to learn that famed bodybuilder and actor Varinder Singh Ghuman Ji passed away from a heart attack.

He was a devoted vegetarian, built his body with discipline and grace.

May Waheguru grant his departed soul eternal peace and give strength to his family to bear this loss.”
