Unsurprisingly, it is very expensive
For millionaires, they have access to some of the most lavish things, including luxury cars.
Luxury cars are high-performing but one thing which sets them apart is their exclusivity.
In a lot of cases, just a few hundred vehicles or even less are produced and sell out almost immediately.
Special editions of normal production cars or one-off models are manufactured and sold to just a handful of buyers.
Due to their exclusivity, many are very expensive, with some costing £1 million or more.
Despite this, those with deep enough pockets are more than willing to spend the money.
Check out nine luxury cars worth over £1 million.
One supercar that is a must for wealthy petrolheads is the Bugatti Chiron.
The Chiron is the third instalment in Bugatti’s array of performance models, replacing the iconic Veyron.
As it is a Bugatti, it is no surprise that it is built for speed, with the standard version reaching a top speed of 261 mph.
However, the Chiron SuperSport may be the fastest production car ever built as it is believed to have reached 300 mph in testing.
This is thanks to its giant quad-turbo W16 engine and incredible aerodynamic properties.
It also looks like nothing else but this uniqueness means it is very pricey, costing £2.5 million.
The Ferrari LaFerrari is a spectacular supercar, boasting a top speed of 218 mph.
This F1-inspired supercar is powered by a 6.3-litre V12 paired with an electric motor and an energy recovery system, producing 950 bhp.
Unsurprisingly, it is very expensive, costing £1.4 million.
The reason behind the price is that Ferrari worked extremely hard to turn a seamlessly engineered coupe into a roadster while keeping the same performance.
The hefty price is also down to it being a very rare supercar, with just 499 built.
Nevertheless, all units were sold to customers via an invitation.
Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4
Lamborghini is known for producing luxury cars and the Countach LPI 800-4 is one of the Italian manufacturer’s most stunning models.
It is a modern interpretation of the classic supercar of the same name and its unveiling excited collectors as well as fans of the original.
This new Countach is actually a hybrid but it does not hold back on the power.
It produces 803 bhp and has a top speed of 220 mph.
Even though only 112 were made, all were sold less than a week after being unveiled.
The lucky 112 buyers had to fork out £1.9 million and if another limited edition Lamborghini is unveiled in the future, expect it to be even more pricey.
Koenigsegg is already an exclusive supercar manufacturer and the Jesko is its most powerful model.
This hypercar produces up to 1,600 bhp thanks to a 5-litre twin-turbo V8 engine.
Two versions of the Jesko are available: Attack or Absolut.
The Absolut is claimed to be the fastest production car, with a top speed of more than 300 mph.
Other features include electronically adjustable seats and Apple CarPlay.
At £2.3 million, the Jesko is also Koenigsegg’s most expensive car.
The rare supercar is limited to 125 units but wealthy car collectors are more than willing to splash the cash.
Ferrari F60 America
Another luxury car worth over £1 million is the limited edition Ferrari F60 America. It was built to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Ferrari’s operations in North America and it is based on the F12 Berlinetta.
It has a naturally-aspirated 730 bhp V12 engine, giving it a top speed of 210 mph.
This special edition has a distinct look. This includes sculpted fenders and rear arches behind the driver, as well as the standout blue paint job.
The F60 is completely unique and very expensive, costing around £1.9 million.
But don’t expect to see one on the roads as only 10 units of this rare supercar were built.
The McLaren Elva is one of the best-looking models in the British carmaker’s illustrious legacy.
It has a distinctive look as it does not have a roof or windscreen, although a version with a windscreen has been released.
But it does not hold back on performance.
The Elva produces 804 bhp thanks to its twin-turbo 4-litre V8.
However, it is a rare supercar. McLaren originally announced just 399 units but the company later dropped that to just 249 units.
For those who were lucky enough to get their hands on one, they had to pay £1.3 million.
One of the most expensive cars is the outlandish Lamborghini Veneno.
It was unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and was built to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary.
The Veneno is also one of the rarest Lamborghinis, with just five ever built and only three made for the public. Nine Veneno Roadsters were also built.
With an introductory price of £3.2 million, it is one of the most expensive cars built.
The Veneno borrows the body and engine from the Aventador. It has a 6.5-litre V12 engine that produces 740 bhp.
With a top speed of 221 mph, the Veneno is also one of Lamborghini’s fastest cars.
Mercedes-AMG Project One
The Mercedes-AMG Project One is one of the most ambitious vehicles as it is a road-legal car with Formula One technology.
Although it was first announced in 2017, it has still not been released. But in 2022, it finally looks like it will hit the roads.
It has a 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 engine combined with an electric motor.
This may sound like a small engine but it has a total power output of over 1,000 bhp.
The Project One goes from 0-60 mph in less than 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 217 mph.
But it is not cheap as it has a £2 million price tag. Nevertheless, wealthy petrolheads have preordered all 275 units.
W Motors Lykan Hypersport
Dubai-based company W Motors first attracted a lot of attention in 2013 when the Lykan Hypersport was announced.
It gained mainstream attention in Fast and Furious 7, where it was seen speeding across skyscrapers.
It has a top speed of 245 mph but that comes with a hefty price.
The Lykan Hypersport is around £2.6 million but the cost includes luxury features.
This includes titanium LED headlights with 440 15-carat diamonds embedded. But buyers had a selection of rubies, yellow diamonds and sapphires to be integrated based on the car’s paint job.
The Lykan also has a holographic display in the centre console.
As a result, it is a very rare supercar with just seven vehicles produced.
These luxury cars may be expensive but they are appealing to those who want to splash the cash.
Not only are they extravagant but they are also exclusive.
While they cost a lot more than regular production supercars, millionaires are more than willing to part with some cash in order to get their hands on these motors.
