Good Bad Ugly
From ace filmmaker Adhik Ravichandran comes an exciting action-comedy in the form of Good Bad Ugly.
The title references Clint Eastwood’s classic The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (1966).
Adhik’s film stars the renowned actor Ajith Kumar and Konkona Sen Sharma.
Konkona has also carved a name for herself in Bollywood, with films such as Omkara (2006) and Wake Up Sid (2009).
Filming began in May 2024, with shooting in some alluring locations too.
Adhik delves into working with Ajith: “I’m working with the most versatile performer ever.
“He can deliver Good Bad Ugly at the same time.
“Presenting this first-look poster not only as a fanboy but also as a fanboy director.”
In March 2024, producer Dhananjeyan spoke about Adhik as a filmmaker:
“The reason for such a movie is because Adhik is an efficient filmmaker and makes films quickly.
“The second aspect is that he completed Mark Antony amidst so many challenges.
“He’s gotten the courage now after completing the film by taking on those challenges.
“Furthermore, Ajith sir has given dates to shoot continuously and has told us that we’ll start filming in June and it will be a non-stop shoot to complete the film in three months.
“So, when the film is completed by September, the film can come out for Pongal.”
Good Bad Ugly is certainly a film to look forward to.
Kubera
Directed by Sekhar Kammula, Kubera promises to be an exciting drama.
Starring loved actors like Dhanush and Nagarjuna, the film appears to be a pulse-racing ride.
Kubera also stars Rashmika Mandanna, who has won hearts in Hindi cinema with glistening roles in Goodbye (2022) and Animal (2023).
In July 2024, Rashmika’s first look from Kubera was released.
It shows her character menacingly trying to dig something up.
This turns out to be a large suitcase filled with cash.
The video elicited positive and enthusiastic reactions from fans.
One viewer commented: “Intriguing! Keenly awaiting the movie to know the story and your role in it.”
Another said: “Looks interesting! We are excited for this movie.”
On her Instagram Story, Rashmika divulged her hectic shooting schedule for the film.
She expressed: “Shooting nights for so long that I don’t know where to begin.
“Came back to my room at eight in the morning after the night shoot, had my meal, but couldn’t sleep at all.
“So, I read a book and went to bed around noon.
“Shooting with Dhanush sir, Shekar sir, Niketh, and the Kubera team is so much fun.”
Indian 3
In 1996, the first instalment of the Indian franchise was released. It starred Kamal Haasan in a dual role.
He played Veerasekaran ‘Indian’ Senapathy and Chandrabose.
That film, helmed by S Shankar, has become one of the most popular Tamil film series.
Indian 2 hit cinemas on July 12, 2024, with Kamal reprising his iconic role.
Due to the length of Indian 2 being over six hours, a final film, Indian 3, is set to release in 2025.
Indian 3 features Kamal among an ensemble cast that also includes Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, and Rakul Preet Singh.
Announcing his excitement for the film, Kamal said: “People didn’t seem to understand what I was trying to say.
“I only said that I liked Indian 3 more – not that I didn’t like Indian 2!
“I am highly looking forward to Indian 3 as there are some aspects which are really nice.
“It’s like when you have a meal – you like sambhar and rasam, but you look forward more to the payasam (dessert), isn’t it?
“This is just the same.”
In July 2024, director Shankar revealed that he was eyeing a release in early 2025 for Indian 3.
He said: “It’s possible within six months if everything goes well.
“If the VFX works are done, then it is possible.
“Additionally, I want to give out one more information.
“You can see the trailer of Indian 3 at the end of Indian 2.”
With so much talent and adulation involved, fans can look forward to Indian 3 with bated breath.
Thani Oruvan 2
Continuing with the theme of upcoming sequels, fans are in for a treat with the extension of Thani Oruvan (2015).
The original film starred Jayam Ravi (ASP Mithran IPS), Arvind Swamy (Dr Siddharth Abhimanyu), and Nayanthara (Dr Mahima).
Jayam and Nayanthara are set to return to the franchise as they reprise their popular roles.
Mohan Raja also comes back to the director’s chair for the sequel.
The film has been brewing since 2018. Back then, Mohan discussed the sequel. He shared:
“The success and love the audience and fans had showered upon Thani Oruvan leaves me with no options, but to offer more to their expectations with this ambitious venture.
“We’re already in talks with top league technicians and actors for substantial characters.
“Thani Oruvan 2 will have a similar premise of a social backdrop with attempts being made to bring up an engrossing cat-and-mouse game between the protagonist and antagonist.”
In 2023, Nayanthara created a new wave of stardom for herself with Atlee’s Jawan.
There is an undeniable thirst in fans to see her continue her adulation.
