He demanded that the PCB suspend matches.
Yasir Hussain has openly called out Haris Rauf for his controversial behaviour during Pakistan’s Asia Cup clash with India.
The actor-director took to Instagram, hitting out at the cricketer’s behaviour.
He wrote: “Brother, that’s the Pakistan Air Force’s credit, let them have it.
“Your job is to play cricket, which, frankly, you’re not doing well.”
Hussain’s criticism came after Rauf responded to Indian supporters with provocative gestures while stationed at the boundary line.
Fans had been chanting Virat Kohli’s name to remind Rauf of the 2022 World Cup six-hitting incident.
In that unforgettable game, Kohli had turned the tables by smashing two back-to-back sixes off Rauf’s bowling.
Instead of ignoring the taunts, Rauf retaliated with a “6-0” gesture.
He followed it with mimicked plane-crashing motions, appearing to mock Indian forces, which quickly amplified tensions beyond the field.
Social media erupted instantly, with the video circulating, fuelling heated arguments across both Pakistani and Indian digital platforms.
However, some Pakistani fans defended Rauf, praising his boldness under pressure and applauding him for giving rival fans a reply.
Government figures also weighed in, with Defence Minister Khawaja Asif expressing support and lauding the gesture as patriotic defiance.
However, Hussain’s counterpoint introduced a sharp divide, urging sportsmanship over provocation and calling for focus on cricketing duties.
He reminded followers that representing Pakistan on the international stage requires discipline, composure, and dedication to performance above politics.
Yasir Hussain has previously criticised Pakistan cricket structures.
He demanded that the PCB suspend matches to rebuild and retrain the struggling squad.
His latest comments ignited debate, with some agreeing that players must avoid controversy, while others admired Rauf’s aggressive spirit.

Meanwhile, Indian media reacted strongly, branding Rauf’s conduct unsportsmanlike, inflammatory, and damaging to already fragile bilateral cricket relations.
Indians demanded strict action, even suggesting suspension of sporting ties if such gestures continue in future contests.
Amid the uproar, the game itself faded from discussions, though it delivered excitement before India secured a confident win.
Pakistan posted 171 runs while batting first, giving their bowlers a fighting chance against India’s powerful top-order batting lineup.
Although India wobbled midway after losing quick wickets, resilient middle-order partnerships guided them to victory with seven balls remaining.
In the end, the scoreboard became secondary, overshadowed by fiery debate over Haris Rauf’s viral hand gestures.
