"had we been together it would have been great."

In recent months, reported trouble in Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza’s marriage has been making headlines.

The rumours first surfaced when Sania’s cryptic social media posts left fans wondering if the couple had separated.

Adding fuel to the rumours was the fact that the couple had not been seen together for some time and they did not celebrate Eid together.

In an interview on the programme Score, Shoaib was asked about the rumours.

He responded by saying that it would have been great if they had celebrated Eid together, but due to their professional commitments, they could not do so.

The cricketer went on to clarify that their love and affection for each other remain the same, and he misses her.

Shoaib also mentioned that Sania has commitments in the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is why they are not currently together.

Shoaib Malik commented: “Nothing on it (relationship rumours). On Eid I would like to say that had we been together it would have been great.

“But she has got commitments in the IPL. She is doing shows in the IPL. That’s why we are not together.

“We share love like always. I miss her a lot, that I can say. There are (professional) commitments.

“But Eid is a day when you miss a lot of the people who are close to you. This is why neither I released a statement nor did she.”

This statement is likely to put to rest the rumours that have been circulating in the media for the past few months.

Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik got married in 2010 in Hyderabad and have a four-year-old son named Izhaan.

Despite the rumours, Shoaib’s response assures fans that all is well between the couple.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik continue to co-host their chat show, The Mirza Malik Show.

The show has been a hit among fans, and the couple has received a lot of positive feedback for their chemistry on-screen.

Moreover, in response to rumours linking her to Shoaib Malik’s alleged divorce, Ayesha Omar had previously denied any romantic involvement with the cricketer.

During an interview on Shoaib Akhtar’s chat show in February, Ayesha stated that she would never be attracted to a married or committed man and that her reputation was well-known.
