Tennis star Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik are ruling the headlines after reports of their divorce emerged.
This incident came to light after Sania Mirza wrote a cryptic post on social media talking about hard days.
Rumours are that Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza parted ways after 12 years of marriage as he was allegedly cheating on her.
However, both the stars have maintained silence on the same.
Now, Sania Mirza is again making the headlines, but this time, it is regarding her past.
Before Shoaib Malik, Sania Mirza was set to marry her childhood friend named Sohrab Mirza.
He is the owner of Universal Baker.
They were engaged, however, they called it off.
In an interview with the Times of India in 2010, Sohrab Mirza spilt the beans.
He said that they realised that they were not compatible with each other and decided to part ways amicably.
He said that it was a mutual decision and he had seen it coming as there were many differences between them.
He had said: “Differences between us cropped up right from the word go.”
“After the engagement, we realised we were completely incompatible although we had known each other for around six years and our families have been friends for three generations.”
He added: “The broken engagement didn’t come out of the blue. I saw it coming!”
There were rumours that there were problems because Sania Mirza was a star. However, he had rubbished all the rumours.
Following this, in 2010, Sania Mirza got married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik.
The duo has a son together.
Rumours regarding the couple’s divorce have been circulating on social media for about a week now.
Netizens started speculating they are not together after Sania Mirza began to post pictures with her son without tagging or mentioning Shoaib Malik.
She also posted several quotes on Instagram which added to the speculation.
While netizens are sad about the development, the couple is yet to make an official announcement in this regard.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time such rumours have spread. It has happened in the past too.
In 2012, the couple was going through a rough patch and had almost called it quits.
But, Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza later resolved their issues and decided to stay together.
