Why did Shamoon Abbasi not attend his Daughter’s Wedding?

It was revealed that Shamoon Abbasi did not attend his daughter’s wedding.

His ex-wife, Javeria, arranged three functions for their daughter Anzela, including a Mehndi, Shendi, and Walima.

Shamoon’s sister Anoushay Abbasi explained that he had been involved in a car crash and suffered a broken tooth.

It was initially believed that this was the reason for his absence.

However, Shamoon shared a cryptic post on Facebook that suggested the real reason why he did not attend his daughter’s wedding.

In the now-deleted post, Shamoon wrote:

“Reminding a few shameless people about breaking ties, I never intended to maintain a relationship with such shameless and immoral individuals, and I will never do so.

“I don’t care about my connection with them, but my choice lies in distancing myself from such people.

“Certain internal wounds prevent hurting your soul. Allah is great.”

Even though the post was deleted, social media users were quick to screenshot it and reshare it.

Many believed the post was aimed at his ex-wife and daughter.

They subsequently criticised him as they believed he should have been there for her big day.

One social media user said: “If you hate your daughter so much, why ruin her big day like this? You should have kept silent.”

Another asked: “Why so much propaganda over family disputes?

“If you haven’t participated then you should have stayed silent. You are not bound to criticise this way.”

One person claimed that although his post was aimed at his family, Shamoon should have displayed his feelings as a father, and proved that parents love their children unconditionally.

Javeria took to Instagram to share snippets from her daughter’s wedding.

Looking radiant in a green lehenga and her hair styled in a braid, Javeria looked every part of a proud mother.

Fans offered their congratulations to the actress and wished her daughter happiness in her new journey of life.

One comment read:

“Many congratulations to you and the entire Abbasi family.”

Another read: “Congratulations. May Allah shower them both with everlasting happiness.”

Shamoon Abbasi and Javeria tied the knot in 1997 but decided to go their separate ways in 2009. Anzela is their only child.

He went on to marry actress Humaima Malick, the sister of Feroze Khan, but the pair divorced in 2010.

Shamoon is now married to actress, model and producer Sherry Shah.
