"I spent the majority of it in urgent care"
Megan Suri marked her 26th birthday in an unexpected way, spending most of the day in urgent care after what she feared was a heart attack.
Taking to Instagram to share the news with her fans, Megan expressed gratitude despite the health scare.
She wrote: “I’ve been 26 for just barely a day and I spent the majority of it in urgent care because I thought I was having a heart attack.
“It’s all good, I just severely strained my chest wall from working out too hard.”
Although the incident was alarming, Megan reassured her followers that everything was fine and her health was on the mend.
She also reflected on the emotional support she received from her late father, who she credits with much of her success.
The 26-year-old continued: “Speaking of my dad, without whose belief in me, I don’t think you guys would’ve known of me, I was thinking maybe something deep within him knew to support me on this path so that in his absence, he could leave me with the support and love of a couple hundred thousand more humans.”
Megan Suri ended her heartfelt message with a note of appreciation for her followers.
She said: “I love you all. Grateful isn’t a big enough word.
“Thank you for being the best and for bearing with my frequent social hiatuses.”
Megan also gave some practical advice for her fans, urging them to take care of their bodies.
“Lastly, please please please stretch.”
In December 2024, Megan sadly announced her father had passed away on November 19.
She posted a lengthy tribute, eliciting support from fans and fellow celebrities.
Her Never Have I Ever co-star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan wrote:
“Your dad was a one-of-a-kind angel. constantly was in awe of his kindness towards humanity.
“Thank you for bringing him into my life. I love you so much Megan, give your fam a big hug from me and the rest of my family. You will always be your father’s daughter.”
Praising her tribute, Mindy Kaling said at the time:
“Oh Megan. I am so sorry. This was beautiful. I know it must’ve been hard to write but I’m so glad you did.”
Since her breakout role as Aneesa in Never Have I Ever, Megan Suri has gone on to star in numerous films and TV shows.
Her latest film Companion is about a weekend getaway with friends at a remote cabin. Things become chaos after it is revealed that one of the guests is a companion robot.
