He said the actor had “a lot of things to share”
Kapil Sharma revealed Aamir Khan refused to promote his latest film on The Great Indian Kapil Show, instead inviting the team to his home.
The comedian opened up during an episode of his Netflix talk show, which featured content creators Saurabh Dwivedi, Samdish, Raj Shamani and Kamya Jani as guests.
The episode marked a shift from the usual Bollywood line-up and featured plenty of self-deprecating humour, as well as chats about their respective podcasts.
At one point, Kapil playfully mocked Saurabh’s interview prep, saying:
“You did an episode with Aamir Khan that was five and a half hours long. I have yet to watch it. I’ll watch it during my summer vacation.
“He didn’t take an interview, he wrung him dry. Don’t you think only his kurta and slippers were left? You could have taken that too.”
Saurabh laughed off the joke and explained why Aamir made such a compelling guest.
He said the actor had “a lot of things to share”, like many who had struggled and worked across various fields.
Kapil then revealed Aamir turned down his invitation to appear on the new season of The Great Indian Kapil Show to promote Sitaare Zameen Par.
Kapil revealed: “I called Aamir Bhai to invite him here for Sitaare Zameen Par. He said, ‘No, I’ve given everything to them, take it from them from now on’.”
Although Aamir didn’t appear on the show, he did invite Kapil and his team, Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda, to his home.
Ranbir Kapoor also joined the gathering, where the group was seen jamming together with the Sitaare Zameen Par cast.
The latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show featured Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha, where they recalled their first meeting in London.
Parineeti revealed that afterwards, she Googled his height.
Raghav said: “Whatever she says, the opposite happens. She once said, ‘I’ll never ever marry a politician’ and then ended up marrying one.
“Now every morning, I wake her up and say, ‘You say it, Raghav Chadha will never ever become the Prime Minister of India’.”
The moment had the audience in fits of laughter.
