They bonded over their shared love of cooking and travelling.

Since its debut in 2020, Netflix’s Indian Matchmaking has been a popular watch, with arranged marriages and matchmakers being presented to the world.

While some accused the show of presenting ‘classist’ and ‘casteist’ stereotypes, others saw it as their guilty pleasure.

The series follows Sima Taparia, or Sima Aunty, as she meets wealthy clients in a bid to find them compatible life partners.

For some couples, it did not end well.

But others have fallen in love and are still together.

Following the conclusion of season three, we look at the couples from the season and whether they are still together.

Priya & Vimal

Status: Unsure

Priya, a private chef and clinical chemist from London, reached out to Sima Aunty after a difficult divorce left her wanting another chance at love.

She struggled to find a connection with her matches until she met Vimal.

They bonded over their shared love of cooking and travelling.

Although Priya revealed that she felt Vimal was being a bit too full-on, the pair seemingly overcame it when she introduced him to her friends.

However, their relationship status is unknown as they do not follow each other on social media and have no online interaction, despite interacting with other cast members.

Either their relationship is very private or they are no longer together.

Arti & Jamal

Status: Engaged

On Indian Matchmaking, Miami-based Arti sought Sima Aunty’s help to find her a match after her father passed away, as his wish was to see her settle down.

She also said that she just wanted someone to take her to Costco.

After a few dates did not work out, Arti met Jamal on a dating app.

Despite their different cultural and religious backgrounds, the pair hit it off instantly.

On the show, viewers even saw Jamal get down on one knee and propose. Arti said yes.

The couple are still together, playfully poking fun at each other on Instagram posts.

Viral & Aashay

Status: Together

Viewers first met North Carolina-based pharmaceutical developer Viral Joshi in season two of Indian Matchmaking.

She rejected two of Sima Aunty’s proposed matches but that did not stop her from finding a connection with Aashay Shah.

Viewers caught up with the couple again in season three where they travelled to India to meet Aashay’s parents.

Although Viral and Aashay keep their relationship fairly quiet on social media, they follow each other on Instagram.

On the show, their long-distance relationship was an obstacle.

But it seems Viral now splits her time between North Carolina and New York, where Aashay lives, as her Instagram bio says NYC and NC.

Shital & Niraj

Status: Still Together

Shital and Niraj are another couple from season two.

After Shital struggled to find a connection with any of Sima Aunty’s matches, she connected with Niraj.

In season three, Shital introduced Niraj to her parents and bizarrely, her father is shocked that Niraj does not look more like Clint Eastwood.

The couple continues to go from strength to strength, with their Instagram accounts filled with pictures and videos of each other.

In the comments section of their posts, fans wonder when Niraj will propose.

Pavneet & Tushar

Status: Unsure

After failing to connect with Rushali earlier in season three, film director Tushar went on a date with Pavneet.

But things did not go as planned because Tushar promised a second date with her but failed to contact her.

This left Pavneet annoyed but she gave him the benefit of the doubt when he insisted that her phone number had somehow not been saved.

The second date happens and while it is not known what their relationship status is, the pair are friendly on social media.

At one point in Indian Matchmaking, Pavneet said:

“We had good conversations.

“We have talked, and of course, we were just laughing around… He has a good sense of humour.”

Indian Matchmaking continues to be a popular dating series filled with drama and romance.

Talk now turns to whether a fourth season will happen.
