"It looks more clean and more defined."
Amir Khan splashed the cash on a secret procedure before going on I’m a Celebrity… South Africa. However, the retired boxer now regrets it.
The 36-year-old secretly underwent laser hair removal sessions prior to his stint in the South African bush.
Amir underwent the procedure because he believed a bare chest would help him look more muscular.
He said: “I know it’s not masculine, but all my life when I’ve been fighting I’ve had a hairy chest, but I got it lasered recently.
“People say, ‘You need to be a man, you need to have hair on your chest’, but I think it looks nice.
“It looks more clean and more defined. We want to see the definition of our muscles.
“When we get whipped up we want to see the lines and definition and you can tell that when you don’t have the hair, so I’ve had it lasered.”
Amir’s time on I’m a Celebrity… South Africa was shortlived, becoming the third campmate to leave the show.
Following his exit, he has now admitted that he regrets having laser hair removal.
On Rylan Clark’s podcast, Amir said:
“Sometimes I do regret it because sometimes it’s good to have a bit of a bush, do you know what I mean?”
Amir’s shock exit from the show came after the campmates were told that they would be taking part in a secret ballot, voting for someone to leave the camp.
He later revealed the truth about his exit.
On Twitter, Amir Khan wrote:
“THE TRUTH – I chose to be picked and nominated out.
“I remember the night before, when the voting was taking place – I strictly told the campmates to vote for me. I couldn’t see anyone else voted out.
“I had my jungle experience, won plenty of stars for camp and enjoyed my time with the campmates.”
“Thank you for a wonderful time. Please don’t be upset – I was happy to go.”
Amir later explained that he asked his fellow campmates to vote for him before he did something silly.
He said: “I didn’t want to see anyone else go to be honest with you. I hope people at home say, ‘Amir has made a massive difference to the first time’.
“I thought, I’ll be the one to put my hand up. It’s best to leave on a good note than do something silly… which I think was coming!”
I’m a Celebrity… South Africa concluded with Myleene Klass being crowned the winner after a dramatic final trial against Jordan Banjo.
