Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief Vijay recently experienced a moment of intense panic during a political campaign rally.
The incident occurred in Kanniyakumari while the popular star was cycling as part of his roadshow for elections.
A video capturing the moment shows a fan throwing petals at the actor, which led to a sudden reaction.
Vijay appeared to mistake the harmless flowers for something dangerous and quickly abandoned his bicycle to seek immediate safety.
He rushed back to his security van as the crowd around him began to swell during the busy campaign.
This footage has since gone viral on social media platforms, leading to a mix of humour and serious concern.
An account called Telangana Maata posted a video of the actor from the rally after officials allegedly deleted it. They wrote:
“During his cycle campaign, Vijay suddenly threw his cycle and ran back as if it were a bomb when a fan tried to shower flowers on him.”
While many social media users found the reaction funny, others were quick to offer various justifications for his behaviour.
Some observers labelled the situation as pure meme material while others suggested that the actor might be genuinely traumatised.
A user reacted to the viral clip by stating: “This is pure entertainment.”
Another user on X made a pun referencing his film Master by calling the event a disaster.
That specific post stated: “The self-proclaimed ‘Master’, mistaking garland for a ‘Blaster’, bolted back ‘Faster’”
One critic addressed him by stating: “Joseph, this is not a movie, come to reality.”

Fans of the TVK chief were much more supportive and tried to explain why he might have been scared.
A supporter suggested: “As a casual observer, it feels like he’s traumatised.
“Saw a group of people running at him and his vehicles, and probably got reminded of the Karur incident.”
Another fan mentioned that his security team likely gave him a briefing about potential threats before the cycle rally.
They defended the actor by saying: “On serious lines, I am sure he must have received a threat briefing from whoever is handling his security detail.
“Honestly, that did seem like a threat. His detail should have been ahead of him if he were on an open under the sky condition.”
He also made news when he spotted a fan holding a picture of him and his estranged wife, Sangeeta Sornalingam.
Vijay is currently preparing for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, where he will represent his newly formed party.
