"Nothing will happen to me. So don’t do this.”
Diljit Dosanjh had an unexpected encounter during his concert in Paris when a fan threw a mobile phone at him.
While such actions typically frustrate performers, Diljit’s reaction captured widespread attention and admiration on social media.
In a viral video, the singer was in the midst of his performance when the phone was hurled at his feet.
Instead of showing anger or annoyance, Diljit smiled and picked up the device.
He addressed the fan with a light-hearted tone, saying:
“Take care of your phone, paji (brother). Don’t ruin the moment please.
“I love you brother, but why are you breaking your phone like this?”
After giving the fan back their phone, Diljit unexpectedly gave his jacket to them as well.
Advising the fan not to treat artists that way, Diljit added:
“Your phone will only get spoilt. Nothing will happen to me. So don’t do this.”
Diljit then reassured the audience, noting that the vibe of the concert had been slightly disrupted but that he was ready to continue.
His calm demeanour and ability to diffuse the situation with humour left many fans impressed.
Incidents of fans throwing items at singers are common and a recent incident involved a shoe being hurled at Karan Aujla.
However, not all reactions were positive.
Some fans expressed disappointment over Diljit’s decision to reward the unruly behaviour by gifting his jacket.
They felt that the gesture sent the wrong message, implying that misbehaviour could lead to unexpected rewards or attention.
That’s the reason why we love #diljitdosanjh Phaji
