"within two days, they were calling me on the set."
Vicky Kaushal recalled being “threatened” by his wife Katrina Kaif two days after their wedding.
The couple got married on December 9, 2021, in a lavish ceremony that became known for its secrecy.
Vicky has now revealed that filming for Zara Hatke Zara Bachke coincided with his wedding.
He explained that he had to leave the film set for the wedding in Rajasthan.
But when the filmmakers asked him to return two days after his marriage, Katrina issued a threat and urged him to stay with her for longer.
Detailing the time, Vicky said: “I have done half of the film’s shooting before my marriage and then I took off for my marriage.
“Right after the marriage, within two days, they were calling me on the set.
“Then I got the threat that if you have to go to the set in two days then don’t get married. Then I said ‘no’ and I went to the sets of the film after five days.”
Zara Hatke Zara Bachke also starred Sara Ali Khan and it emerged as a sleeper hit.
Explaining how his life has changed after marrying Katrina, Vicky said she brings “peace” to his life.
Vicky elaborated: “Marriage has been really beautiful and it really is a blessing to find a companion for yourself where you truly feel like you have come back home.
“It’s a sukoon (peace) vala feeling. It’s a great feeling, she is a lovely human being. It is fun living and exploring life with her.
“I am travelling a lot with her, something I didn’t experience much before.”
Although they are both actors, Vicky revealed that he and Katrina hardly discuss work.
He added:
“We don’t discuss work a lot. We are both from the same industry, so we talk about it but we don’t discuss scripts and all.”
Vicky Kaushal previously revealed that he is open to starring in a film with his wife but stated that it has to happen “organically”.
He said: “We would love to see ourselves in a movie together.
“But it has to happen organically and for the right reasons, not just because we are together and that there’s a curiosity about watching us in a film together.
“I feel, when you organically fit the bill, in a real sense, that this is a perfect cast and that’s when it should happen.
“I believe it will happen soon. I hope it happens soon.”
On the work front, Vicky Kaushal will be seen in Sam Bahadur next.
The film will release on December 1, 2023, and will clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. Meanwhile, Katrina last starred in Tiger 3.
