"the Brilliant brand has gained an iconic status"
An acclaimed Indian restaurant that is loved by Gordon Ramsay will close.
The Brilliant Restaurant in Southall will showcase its signature dishes in a final dinner on April 4, 2025, before closing its doors on April 7.
Known for its signature Indian dishes, the restaurant has been a staple of West London dining for 50 years.
The farewell dinner will feature classic dishes such as karahi gosht, masala chicken, and samosa chaat.
The restaurant, a favourite of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and even King Charles, earned widespread recognition over the years.
Owner and TV chef Dipna Anand reflected on the milestone.

She said: “It may be the end of an era for Brilliant Southall, but after 50 years, the Brilliant brand has gained an iconic status in Indian dining.
“We have to ensure that it is constantly evolving to both reflect the preferences of diners and the food I love to eat, so there’s something delicious for everyone.”
Brilliant Restaurant won the “Best International Kitchen” award at the 2024 Hospitality Awards.
It gained national attention in 2010 after featuring on Channel 4’s Ramsay’s Best Restaurant. The show, which sought Britain’s top local eateries, saw Ramsay work alongside the staff in the kitchen.
At the time, Gulu Anand, Dipna’s father, said: “The restaurant got extremely busy but he managed to get his dishes out on time.
“He was absolutely fantastic working in the kitchen.
“He said this was one of the best organised Indian restaurants he had ever seen and added that he loved the food.”

The restaurant has also welcomed several A-list guests, including King Charles and Queen Camilla, who dined there in 2008. The King sampled several dishes and praised the food.
Loyal customers will not have to wait long for a new dining experience from the Anands.
Dipna will open Brilliant Gastro in mid-April at the Green Quarter, one of London’s largest regeneration projects. The new venture will fuse Punjabi flavours with Western classics.
Brilliant Restaurant’s history dates back to the 1950s when Dipna’s grandfather, Bishen Dass Anand, founded the brand in Kenya.
The Anand family moved to the UK in 1973, and two years later, Kewal and Gulu Anand opened the first Brilliant Restaurant in Southall.
Starting as a 30-seat venue, it has expanded over the years, now seating 220 with a banqueting suite and cookery school.
