"We hope to finish the remaining shoot soon."
Tribunal, a courtroom drama exploring justice, morality, and political influence, is nearing completion with most of its filming finished.
About 75 percent of the shooting has wrapped, and the production team is aiming to finish the remaining sequences soon.
The makers officially presented the project during a press conference held in Dhaka.
Director Raihan Khan spoke about the film, explaining its unique approach and careful attention to storytelling and authenticity.
He said: “Tribunal is being made in a completely different approach. We hope to finish the remaining shoot soon.”
The director added that the film could be released on Eid if post-production is completed on schedule without compromising quality.
The storyline focuses on a case filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, 2001, rooted in true events.
It examines how political pressure and societal expectations can influence the course of justice within sensitive legal cases.
Nusraat Faria stars as a London-educated barrister whose intelligence, determination, and emotional depth define her performance in the drama.
Faria previously revealed: “The emotional depth, responsibility, and determination of the character really moved me.”
The actress emphasised that the role aligned with her personal values, inspiring her to accept the challenging part immediately.
The cast also includes Moushumi Hamid, Tania Brishty, Sayra Akhter Jahan, Ador Azad, Shahed Ali, Milon Bhattacharjee, and Rakib Hossain Evan.
Moushumi Hamid revealed she plays the eyewitness in the murder-courtroom drama, which features 26 witnesses testifying throughout the story. She admitted:
“I haven’t received a story like this before.”
“There are 26 witnesses and one eyewitness. I play the eyewitness.”
The film blends emotional tension, legal strategy, and real-life social commentary into a compelling courtroom narrative designed to resonate widely.
Although most of the shooting is complete, post-production work will finalise sound design, editing, and visual continuity before the release.
The team intends for Tribunal to premiere during Eid-ul-Fitr 2026, offering audiences a socially relevant and gripping cinematic experience.
By highlighting the challenges faced by women and children, the film hopes to spark conversations about justice, morality, and systemic flaws.
The project also represents a step forward for Bangladeshi cinema, showing that serious social topics can be explored with cinematic finesse.
Director Khan stressed the importance of taking time in post-production to maintain authenticity and narrative clarity without rushing the final cut.
With an ensemble cast and an engaging, true-story foundation, Tribunal promises to captivate audiences while addressing critical social issues.
