"Who is the director of the drama serial?”

Danish Taimoor’s latest drama serial, Teri Chhaon Mein, has sparked controversy for copying several famous scenes from the Bollywood film Tere Naam.

The drama, which airs on Hum TV, has been written by Radain Shah and directed by Abdullah Badini.

Produced by Momina Duraid Productions, the cast includes Laiba Khurram, Tara Mehmood, Sohail Sameer, Behroze Sabzwari, and others.

The story revolves around Salaar, a young man obsessed with a girl named Wadeema, whom he falls in love with at first sight.

A specific scene from the drama has gone viral on social media, drawing comparisons with a similar scene from Tere Naam.

In the scene, Salaar chases Wadeema after seeing her on the road and expresses his love for her, eerily mirroring the Bollywood film.

There is another scene in which Wadeema is on stage while Salaar is the only one in the crowd who is clapping. This very scene took place in Tere Naam as well.

The drama has faced criticism from fans and fellow artists alike.

Yasir Hussain shared the controversial scene on social media and questioned the director’s vision, writing:

“What’s happening man? Who is the director of the drama serial?”

Fans have expressed outrage over the blatant copying of the Bollywood film’s scene, labelling it as “toxic” and “problematic”.

Social media users have also expressed disappointment in Danish Taimoor’s decision to sign onto the project.

Some questioned whether he had read the script before committing to the role.

One user recognised the similarities with Tere Naam from the first episode.

Another user urged Danish Taimoor to be more mindful of the scripts he chooses in the future.

A user questioned: “Is there even originality and creativity left in Pakistani dramas?

“We need more innovative storytelling and less reliance on borrowed ideas.”

Another user sarcastically commented: “There is such a huge difference between Danish and him.

“Danish is not wearing sunglasses like Salman Khan. Why can’t people notice that it is entirely different.”

One said:

“Danish Taimoor should feel embarrassed now.”

Another commented: “Whoever the director is, it doesn’t matter. What was Danish thinking when he was reading the script?

“He saw the script of Teri Chhaon Mein and said ‘Oh this is so original and good, I should definitely do it’?”

One stated: “Salman Khan, please destroy Danish’s career. Sue them for copying Tere Naam.”

Another remarked: “Danish looks very stupid. He is an uncle playing a university student. It is very weird.”
