Sidhu Moose Wala’s mother Charan Kaur has announced that she will be starting a protest in order to seek justice for her late son.
The Punjabi singer was shot dead on May 29, 2022.
Although an investigation was launched, the police have failed to arrest those involved.
After three months, no progress has been made and it has frustrated Sidhu’s mother, who said that the police have been given enough time.
Charan and her husband Balkaur Singh had been addressing their son’s fans at their home in the Mansa district of Punjab.
She said: “We fully cooperated with the police and the government but nobody has done anything to deliver justice to us.
“It would have been better if we had not performed the cremation of our son till police arrested all the accused involved in his murder.”
Charan went on to say that despite everyone calling her sherni (tigress), she does not consider herself brave.
She added: “But I have now become a sherni to get justice for my son.
“Whether anyone comes or not, we two will sit and stage a protest demanding justice.”
In the immediate aftermath of Sidhu’s death, gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the singer’s murder.
Six gunmen had been involved.
Two were killed in a police encounter while three others are under police remand. The sixth gunman remains on the run.
The Punjab government announced talks with the Canadian authorities to extradite Goldy Brar for questioning.
Meanwhile, the name of another gangster named Lipin Nehra has come to light.
It is alleged that he helped Brar come into contact with gunmen Kashish and Deepak Mundi.
During questioning, Kashish revealed that he had agreed to take part in the murder at the request of Nehra.
He also said Mundi’s involvement was also due to Nehra.
Mundi currently remains the only gunman who has not been arrested.
After Nehra’s name cropped up, the Punjab Police brought his brother Pawan Nehra from a Delhi jail for interrogation.
Pawan Nehra is also a notorious gangster, who is associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
It is reported that he faces five murder charges.
According to information received from a senior police official, after Pawan was questioned. the police found that he had no direct or indirect involvement in the Sidhu Moose Wala case.
